Access Statement for The Old Butchers Bed and Breakfast
Introduction
Situated in the historic village of Wingham the The Old Butchers B&B
is the perfect place to stay whether you are visiting for business or
leisure. Located in the village are a number of pubs a Post Office and
village store. We are also a 15 minute drive, or bus ride from the main
shops and attractions of the Historic City of Canterbury. The The Old
Butchers B&B is situated on the main road with off road parking.
We offer 2 bedrooms, both on the first floor with raised entry level ensuite shower. For breakfast, where possible, we use locally sourced
ingredients and cater for varying dietary requirements.

Pre-Arrival

The nearest Train station is Adisham which is 2 miles awaythere are no Taxis from this station. There are high speed links
to and from London from Canterbury West Train station where
there is a taxi rank outside. There is a bus service to Wingham
from either Canterbury or Sandwich with regular buses. The
nearest bus stop is 100 yards away, by the Church.

There are several parking spaces to the rear of the B&B on a
solid base giving easy access. This area is well lit at night with
security lighting.
There are two steps down through the guest entrance door.

Assistance can be given with luggage.

Guests are welcomed in the guest dining room, which is level
throughout. Once up the small step they will be asked to
register.
There are several upright chairs available for seating.
The flooring is a hardwood.
The area is well lit with overhead halogen lighting or lamps.
Pen and paper is available on request.
Guests are shown through the dining room hallway and stairs to
their bedroom.

There are four bedrooms all located on the first floor and only
accessible via the large staircase.
There is no lift at The Old Butchers.
All of our bedrooms offer the following: Lighting as above; good
colour contrast between the floor, walls and doors; short pile
carpet, all bedding is non-feather; widescreen digital television
with remote control, subtitles, and audio description facilities.

All rooms have en-suite shower rooms.
Both have raised entry to the shower room.

All public areas are well lit using wall and ceiling lights.
There is wooden floor to the ground floor and the staircase is
solid oak. On the first floor there is a short pile carpet.
Dining Room

The dining room is situated on the ground floor with a small
step as you enter the room but otherwise has a level hard floor.
Additional Information

The Old Butchers is a grade II listed property and as such we
have been unable to make extensive alterations to the property.
We do however welcome all guests and look forward to
greeting you to The Old Butchers and if we can assist in making
