Iowa State University Greek Scholar of the Month Award Purpose: To recognize students of the Greek Community that illustrate academic excellence, community engagement and uphold academic integrity. These men should place a high priority on their course work at Iowa State University. Nominated students should be those who serve as role models within their chapter and as ambassadors of the values and ideology that embody the pillar of academics that the Greek Community was built upon. Qualifications: To be eligible for the Scholar of the Month Award, a student must meet the following qualifications: Have a cumulative grade point average of (3.5) or greater at time of nomination Must be a full-time student at Iowa State University Have been a member of their respective organization for at least one semester Must be an active member of a recognized Interfraternity Council (IFC) organization in good standing at Iowa State University. Those nominated should: Display commitment to excel academically. Play an active role in enriching the collegiate experience of the Greek Community. Proactively strive to enhance the academic, leadership, professional, and life skill sets of the membership within his or her organization(s). Demonstrate improvement in academics, leadership and/or involvement at Iowa State University. Iowa State University faculty, staff, chapter advisers and students are eligible to nominate students. When: Nominations are due on the 3rd Monday of every month. A total of six individuals will be selected as the Greek Scholar of the Month throughout the academic year; three per semester (September 22nd, October 20th, November 17th, February 15th, March 15th and April 19th.)
