Your questions helped them to explain their thinking more clearly about key concepts. Having the students model sentences in front of the class was a creative strategy to engage them in the learning. Your sentences connected to their experiences. As we discussed, you probably relied too much on verbal communication and sometimes directions weren’t entirely clear. What were other ways you could use to model or communicate your ideas visually? Also, while the human punctuation activity was creative, it didn’t include ways for the rest of the class to be involved. They could write the correct form of the sentence at their desks to predict how the human sentence should be formed. ____Distinctive © Copyright 2009. Alverno College, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
