Support for students beyond the five-year guarantee is seen as a shared responsibility of the program
and the Graduate School. The Graduate School requests that if at all possible, at least some
departmental contributions be made.
For any students who are not covered by the matching option and who will be reviewed for funding
by the Graduate School, the Graduate School will follow the program ranking, if provided. If your
program opposes a ranking, you may leave that field blank. Such rankings will not be necessary for
any students whose funding is secured due to the matching option, or due to having received studentwon external funding (incentive program), or through the following internal programs: the Deans’
Faculty Fellowship (DFF), Brown/Wheaton Fellowship (B/W), and the Open Graduate Education
