AUXAPALOOZA Contest
Official Rules and Regulations (the “Contest Rules”)
1. The AUXAPALOOZA Marathon Contest (the “Contest”) starts at 12:01 am ET on July 21 st , 2012 and continues
until 11:59 pm on July 31st , 2012 (the “Contest Closing Date”).
2. The Contest is administered by GlassBOX Television (“GlassBOX”).
3. This Contest is open to individual legal residents of Canada who are 21 years of age or older (does not include
residents of the Province of Quebec), except (a) employees of Sponsors, GlassBOX, and/or their parent and
affiliated companies, representatives, dealers and agents, (b) Contest prize suppliers and judges and (c) those with
whom any persons falling within categories (a) to (c) above are domiciled. In order to be eligible to win any prize,
entrants must comply with these Contest Rules.
4. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations; and it is void
where prohibited by law.
5. No purchase necessary.
6. HOW TO ENTER:
You must have Internet access to enter the ‘Secret Word’ at http://www.aux.tv/contests, and have a valid email
address in order to participate. To enter, watch AUX TV on Rogers Digital VIP (CH. 107) or Shaw (CH. 138)
between July 21st 2012 and July 22nd 2012 to find the ‘Secret Word’. Submit the ‘Secret Word’ at
http://www.aux.tv/contests, with the festival of your choice to be entered to win 1 pair of passes to one of the
following festivals across Canada; Edmonton Folkfest, Sqaumish, Pop Montreal, Osheaga , Heavy TO, Heavy MTL,
Sappyfest, and Rifflandia.
A limit of one (1) e-mail address may be used per person. Should it be discovered that an entrant is using the aid of
computer programs to auto-fill entries, that entrant may be immediately disqualified from the Contest.
The secret word will be posted online, following the July 22nd airing of AUXAPAlOOZA for contestants to enter
until Tuesday July 31st. Contestants will be required to provide their address to allow for an expedited shipment of
their festival passes, should they be selected as a winner.
7. Random Selection:
The winner will be randomly selected after Tuesday July 31 st, 2012, at 11:59pm (ET) at the offices of GlassBOX, at
130 Merton Street, Toronto, ON M4S 1A4 to select eight (8) eligible candidates as winners of the prizes.
GlassBOX (or its delegates representatives) will make three (3) attempts to notify the selected entrant by contacting
the winner via email within two (2) days of being selected. If a selected entrant is not reached within three (3)
attempts, then he or she shall be disqualified and forfeits the corresponding prize and another eligible entrant may, at
the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsors and GlassBOX, be randomly selected from the remaining Top 10
videos as the potential prize winning entrant, whom the Sponsors and GlassBOX(or their representatives) will
attempt to contact, and who shall be subject to disqualification, in the same manner, with timing being calculated
from the new selection date.
8. PRIZING:
There are eight (8) prizes available to be won. The prizes consists of two (2) passes to one of the following
Canadian music festivals:








Edmonton Folkfest $159 (2 = $318)
Sqaumish $169 (2 = $338)
Pop Montreal $200 (2 = $400)
Osheaga 217.50 (2 = $434)
Heavy TO $147 (2 = $294)
Heavy MTL $153.50 (2 = $307)
Sappyfest $100 (2 = $200)
Rifflandia $140 (2 =$280)
Not Included:
• Accommodations
• Transportation to and from the festival locations.
• Any other item, cost or expense not expressly described in these Contest Rules.
Some restrictions apply, including but not limited to the following: Prize-winner and guest must be 19 years of age
or older. GlassBOX cannot guarantee that the festival venues will be wheelchair accessible. There is no credit for
unused portions of the prize. GlassBOX shall not assume responsibility for any refunds, losses, damage, costs or
expenses arising out of the loss of the festival passes. Prize winner and guest are responsible for all transportation,
and fuel charges.
Approximate retail value of the total number of prizes: CAD $2,571
This price does not include transportation or accommodation for the winner. The prize must be accepted as awarded,
with no substitutions, and cannot be transferred or exchanged for its equivalent cash value or any other
consideration, nor refunded. GlassBOX reserves the right to substitute a prize of greater or equal value in the event
of the unavailability, for whatever reason, of the prize or any portion thereof. The potential winner must correctly
answer a mathematical skill-testing question in order to be declared a winner.
9. By entering this Contest, the entrants agree to:
(a) release and hold harmless GlassBOX, other prize suppliers, their advertising and promotional agencies and the
contest judge(s), and their respective affiliates and directors, officers, owners, partners, employees, agents, dealers,
representatives, successors and assigns (collectively the “Releasees”) from and against any and all manner of action,
causes of action, suits, debts, covenants, contracts, claims and demands, including legal fees and expenses,
whatsoever, including but not limited to, claims based on negligence, breach of contract and fundamental breach and
liability for physical injury, personal injury, death, or property damage which the entrants or his/her administrators,
heirs, successors or assigns might have or could have, by reason of or arising out of an entrant’s participation in the
Contest and/or in connection with the awarding, use and/or misuse by an entrant of the prize or any portion
thereof. Before being declared a winner, entrants may be required to sign and return, within a stipulated period of
time, a Declaration of Compliance with the Contest Rules and a full Liability and Publicity Release (the “Release
Form”) in the form provided by GlassBOX. By accepting a prize, winner consents to the use of their name, place of
residence, voice, statements, photographs or other likenesses for publicity, advertising or informational purposes by
GlassBOX relating to this Contest in any medium or format without further compensation or notice, and release the
Releasee from any claims in that regard;
10. Only the entrant(s) selected, as a potential winner will be contacted. The name of the winner will be posted on
AUX TV’s contest page after the winner has been confirmed, and can be viewed by visiting www.aux.tv/contests.
11. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. All entries that are incomplete, illegible,
damaged, irregular, have been submitted through illicit means, or do not conform to or satisfy any condition of these
Contest rules may be disqualified by the Sponsors and/or GlassBOX. GlassBOX takes no responsibility for delayed,
damaged, misdirected, late or destroyed entries, or for typographical or other production errors. GlassBOX is not
responsible for any errors or omissions in printing or advertising the Contest. All entries become the property of the
GlassBOX and will not be returned. Proof of submitting and entry will not be deemed to be proof of receipt.
12. By entering this Contest, you consent and agree to GlassBOX’s collection, use and disclosure of your personal
information provided for the purpose of administering this Contest, disclosing the winner, and awarding the
prize. Entrants not wishing to receive any other informational or marketing communications from GlassBOX
should so indicate on the entry form. GlassBOX are not authorized to use your personal information in any way,
and such use of information is subject to applicable Canadian Federal and Provincial privacy legislation.
13. The Contest will be run in accordance with the terms, conditions and rules herein set out; provided GlassBOX
reserve the right to modify, same, at any time or times, in their sole and unfettered discretion. Contestants must
comply with these Contest Rules, and will be deemed to have received and understood the Contest Rules by
participating in the Contest. The terms of the Contest, as set out in these Contest Rules, are within the sole and
unfettered discretion of GlassBOX and are not negotiable. All decisions of GlassBOX with respect to all aspects of
the Contest are final and binding on all parties.
14. GlassBOX assumes no responsibility for failure of the internet or the website during the promotional period, for
any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access
providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website,
or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to
or resulting from playing or downloading any material in the promotion. GlassBOX reserve the right, in their sole
discretion, to modify, cancel or suspend the Contest or any portion thereof for any reason, without prior notice or
obligation, including but not limited to the email portion of this contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond
their reasonable control be a concern for the security or proper administration of the contest. Any attempt to
deliberately damage any web site or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of
criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, GlassBOX reserve the right to report the attempt to the
applicable authorities and to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
15. If the identity of any entrant is disputed, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the
time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The individual assigned to the e-mail address for the domain
associated with the submitted entry is considered the authorized account holder. A selected entrant may be required
to provide proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the selected
entry. All entries must be submitted from a valid e-mail account that may be identified by reverse domain name
search. The sole determinant of time for the purposes of receipt of a valid entry in this contest will be the applicable
contest server machine(s).
16. Selection Of Finalists
Selection of The Prizewinner: GlassBOX associates will choose the Prizewinners randomly. The decision will take
place the first week of August 1st 2012.
