DECHRA VETERINARY PRODUCTS UK (DVP UK) Job Title Technical Farm Animal Sales Manager (TFASM) Line Manager Equine & FAP Business Manager (FAP – Food Animal Producing) Location Field based (60%), Remote/Office based (40%) Dechra Veterinary Products Limited, Hadnall, UK Department Job Role Sales (60%)/Technical (40%) The Technical Farm Animal Sales Manager (TFASM) has a dual responsibility to support the Sales functions and provide Technical support to the field based teams, customers & Marketing department as detailed below. Technical/Marketing Support Date : 29th July 2015 1 Assist Brand Managers in the development of technical arguments and implementation of marketing campaigns and activities. 2 Provide technical support to the Marketing teams (UK and Central) to ensure that strategy, tactics and marketing materials are relevant, technically accurate, and address UK veterinary market requirements To include technical review, recommendation and copy writing 3 Ensure all relevant content for promotional literature is technically correct, industry compliant & available well in advance of marketing/sales initiatives. 4 Provide technical expertise, analysis and supporting data for the more technical aspects of existing or proposed DVP FAP products, marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns. 5 6 7 When required, handle day to day technical enquiries in a timely, efficient, knowledgeable, documented, industry compliant and courteous manner to provide an excellent level of technical customer service Present technical information to key customers and universities as required. Present at CPD meetings for veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses and veterinary students Provide technical support at congresses, exhibitions and CPD events. Provide technical training on existing Dechra products, new products, or new indications to ensure that Dechra Veterinary Products staff have sound product understanding Training must meet the needs of the person being trained and the wider business strategy Sales 8 9 10 Date : 29th July 2015 Achieve Territory sales objectives, respecting product mix and margins in line with the business plan for the territory Sell the range of DVP FAP products to veterinary customers within a defined sales territory. Identify new business opportunities and sales growth potential with new and existing customers. 11 Achieve the defined KPIs as detailed by the Equine & FAP Business Manager 12 Maintain accurate & up-to-date customer information in accordance with company guidelines 13 Support FASM colleagues and help them position and sell FAP products through a better technical understanding of the products Administrative Duties, Company Culture and Relationships 14 Completion of regular & any ad-hoc administration tasks in a concise, accurate, timely & informative manner 15 Work closely and collaboratively with internal customers to ensure acceptable solutions are delivered that meet or exceed customer expectations. 16 Uphold and work in accordance with the Dechra Values. Other Requirements The TFASM may be required to undertake additional duties in line with business needs at the discretion of the Marketing Manager or the National Sales Manager. This may involve out of office activities to include (but not exclusive to) working at alternative sites, attending company meetings and congresses and managing “remote” sales and/or marketing projects. EXPERIENCE No. Essential Criteria (Identified from CV / Statement / Interview / References) Desirable Criteria (Identified from CV / Statement / Interview / References) 1.1 Broad range of current experience in Large animal veterinary practice, especially Cattle & Sheep Previous experience of the veterinary pharmaceutical industry (not essential as full training and support will be provided) Experience in mixed/large animal veterinary practice and/or working with equine/food producing animal products in industry 1.2 2. EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS TRAINING 2.1 2.2 Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Evidence of formal continuing professional development focussed on large animal medicine, especially herd health plans, fertility, foot problems Achieved a relevant postgraduate qualification 3. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE 3.1 Good knowledge of UK veterinary practices, particularly large animal practices Good technical knowledge within key therapy areas for Dechra or potential to acquire through training/development Good IT skills (proficient user of Word, PowerPoint and the internet) Commercial awareness Calm, confident, assured communicator (written and verbal) Very strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to share knowledge and develop beneficial relationships with others Self-discipline, enthusiasm, drive and determination; able to work independently on own initiative Aptitude for teaching/training and public speaking 3.2 3.3 4.
