Congratulations! You have just won a five day trip to a German speaking country of your choice! The
only catch is that the prize only includes airfare. You have saved up $950 from your after-school job at
Starbucks to use on your trip and you found a $50 under your bed from your birthday last year from
your Aunt Margaret. The exchange rate is really great right now so this means you have €1000 to work
with on your five day trip to Germany!
You will be planning your trip and focusing it on one geographical area in a German speaking
country. Remember, you only have €1000 to spend for all meals, overnight stay, transportation
in Europe and spending money.
How will you share your wonderful trip with the rest of your very jealous classmates?
Major Grade 1: You have the option of presenting your multimedia project AUF
DEUTSCH as a PowerPoint, MS Photo Story, Prezi or a poster.
Major Grade 2: You are recounting your story to your classmates so remember to use
conversational past tense in the spoken presentation!
THIS PROJECT IS WORTH 2 MAJOR GRADES!!!!
The project includes:
1. This packet is for you to use to help you plan your trip. Your pages need to be checked
and signed by your favorite German teacher on the following days:

2. A PowerPoint/Photostory/Prezi/Poster presentation of your virtual trip with a
total of 13 slides
a. a minimum of 10 slides/pictures of your trip – Your conversational past tense
sentences of your oral presentation will correspond with the pictures
b. 1 need-to-know phrase guide slide (with 5 phrases you have not yet learned)
c. 1 specialty topic slide in English (choose one of the following)
 A homemade food item with recipe handout
 A sample of music with ½ page typed explanation
 A literary work or excerpt with ½ page explanation
 A work of art with ½ page typed explanation
 Any other product specific to the area with teacher approval
d. 1 works cited (at least five sources)
