We very much look forward to welcoming you as an Artisans Fair stall holder for 2015/2016 season and being a part of our market community. This season we will start with a massive opening on Labour Weekend Saturday, running right through to Christmas. We are organising an additional Christmas Market spectacular this year, which will be a Twilight Market – on Wednesday evening of the 21st from 4pm to 8 or 9pm. After Christmas, we will run two markets a month over summer months, capitalizing on the growing tourist trade to Northland and the Town Basin. Our Easter Market is always massive but we will continue the season a bit longer and end on Saturday 23 April Anzac weekend. If the Rally goes ahead on the 9 April, we may have to move elsewhere. It’s important that we work together to make these markets as successful as we can. Always open to ideas of how to do this and offers of help or support. Limited to 3 per event on application. 2 Te Kāhui Toi o Whangārei Market Rules – READ WELL and Sign, date etc. 1. It is a condition of entry to the Artisan Market that stallholders agree to be bound by these rules. 2. Items must be handmade or grown by the market stall holder, who must BE DIRECTLY and almost ENTIRELY involved with the creation of their product. Stall holder contribution to a finished product must outweigh the contribution of any commercial components used in the making of that product. Skills in craftsmanship, as well as creative abilities, ingenuity and design skills are examples of stall holder contribution. 3. Consideration will be given on a case to case basis and products determined on the ability to enhance the market overall, however ONLY products approved by the organiser may be sold at the Artisans Fair. 4. The organisers withholds the right to refuse entry to the market of any stall holder or any product deemed unfitting to the kaupapa of the event. 5. Premium and Part time stall holders will be allocated a site which is theirs for the entire season. 6. If a stall holder does not show for a booked market, without prior communication or warning or any reasonable explanation, the market organiser holds the right to cancel any other bookings without refund. 7. The organisers will be at the bridge from 6am to allocate stalls. Loading on the bridge is between the hours of 6am to 7:30am. At 7:30am the bridge will be closed to all vehicles. Stalls in the middle of the bridge cannot set up until the last vehicle has left. The bridge will open again for packdown at 1:45pm, unless there are still too many people around. 8. IMPORTANT NOTE: Stall holders drive onto the bridge at their own risk, and any potential damage caused by the stall holder to the WDC property or their own vehicle is their responsibility. Stall holders need to be guided both onto and off of the bridge, must not drive on the REVAS side of the bridge (not made for vehicles) and drive no faster than 5km per hour. 9. All Stall holders need to arrive by no later than 8am, and be set up by no later than 8:45am! If you have not arrived by 8am, your stall may be allocated to someone else. If you are delayed and arrive late you are still able to set up if we have another site available elsewhere. 10. Please do NOT TO PACK DOWN at all until 1:30pm, unless the organiser announces an early pack-down. 11. Absolutely no sharing of stalls with other artisans or crafters is allowed, UNLESS an arrangement has been made with and approved by the organiser. Be clear about this in the booking forms. 12. Stall holders need to provide everything required to set up their stall, and be prepared for all weather. 13. Markets will go ahead rain or shine. Please let the organiser know if you have booked, paid and for some reason are not able to come. If the weather is seriously dire and the market is officially cancelled – there will be no refunds, sorry. 14. If you know that you are unable to attend a market you have booked and paid for: Please let the organiser know Immediately (it really helps with planning.) Cancellations are not refundable or transferable, sorry – however if advance notice is given i.e at least 7 days before a market – the organiser may be open to exchanging for another date. You are most welcome to invite someone else to use your site by advance arrangement with the organiser. 15. All fees need to be paid in advance. On the day payments will incur a $10 additional charge. 16. Please make your bookings carefully – as no refunds are given for cancellations. 17. All stalls must comply with the Whangarei District Council by laws and statutory requirements and conditions of license of Victoria canopy bridge; and FOOD STALLS need to be registered by the Whangarei District Council and display their certification at all times. Food stalls are also required to provide roof cover, floor cover and a rubbish bin for public use. Food stalls must leave their area spotless after use. 18. Should the stall holder cause ANY DAMAGE whatsoever to the Bridge or Town Basin Facilities, the stall holder is fully responsible for the costs and charges of returning the facilities to its original state. 19. Canopies, tents, umbrellas & stock MUST be fastened securely & safely and is the stall holders responsibility. 20. All stallholders are responsible for the safety and security of their possessions. 21. No responsibility will be taken by Management for the success or otherwise of individual stalls. 22. The Artisan's Market Management's decision on entry, eligibility, position, configuration etc. is final.
