weightings as determined by the school.
 Please note that at least two exams must be used to determine the final estimate exam mark for the HSC. The final estimate exam mark will only be used
as the HSC exam mark in the advent of misadventure.
Training Package Updates
Training Packages on which VET courses are based are continuously being updated in order to reflect industry practice. Consequently, for some courses, there may be
TWO Assessment Schedules, one for the Preliminary Year and one for the HSC Year. Each Assessment Schedule clearly states the year/s for which it is intended.
In 2013, the courses which will have TWO Assessment Schedules are: Construction, Information and Digital Technology and Retail Services.
Attention: VET eBOS coordinator
Entering Preliminary Units of Competency (UOC) and Outcomes
 The following assessment schedules provide a guide as to which UOCs are to be entered for VET courses.
 Enter only Preliminary UOCs for the Preliminary Year. (Terms 1-3 approx – note the number of units)
 At the end of Year 11, outcomes for competencies must be entered. Enter ACHIEVED if the student has Achieved a UOC. If a student does not achieve a
Preliminary unit of competency, click CONTINUING. Generate and save a report from My Files, VET Student Course Competencies, in order to
have a record of all student competency outcomes for Yr11.
 All outcomes that signify achievement ie ACHIEVED, stay in the eBOS system and do not have to be re-entered in Yr 12.
 These outcomes will be listed on the VET Statement of Attainment that students receive along with their Record of Achievement at the end of Year 11.
 If no “Achieved” outcomes are entered, no RTO VET credential will be issued. This RTO VET credential is of importance to students exiting the course or
leaving school as this is the only opportunity to receive it.
Entering HSC Units of Competency and Outcomes
 Enter all HSC UOCs, (Terms 4-7) plus any Preliminary units given a CONTINUING outcome at the end of the Preliminary Year,
as these UOCs will not have stayed in the eBOS system.
 All units of competency are to be given an outcome in order for students to receive the appropriate RTO VET credential along with
Other preliminary or HSC credentials.
• For Construction and IDT, enter all UOCs in assessment schedule. Please note that some UOCs will be deemed as Credit Transfer (CT) if achieved
from the preliminary course.
