Hours can be worked flexibly but some hours may be evening or weekend Carrie Philip, Learning Manager This is a temporary position in response to a short term need for additional museum support as part of a project funded by Arts Council England. Ripon Museum Trust is seeking a reliable and flexible learning assistant. The ideal candidate will be able to work across 3/4 days providing support to the Museums activity. Job Description – Job purpose, duties and responsibilities The postholder will be required: To facilitate adult guided tours across all three museum sites. To deliver agreed sessions to school and youth groups in all three museums. When delivering alongside volunteers to take the lead in setting up activities, greeting groups, and ensuring the whole visit runs smoothly. To deliver and manage the day to day bookings of learning and group visits, arrange timetables and book volunteers and staff and communicate the days programme across the museums. To contact organisations and discuss our learning offer and their requirements in order to encourage group and learning visits. To deliver sessions outside of normal work hours when required. To work as part of the Learning Team, and the Museums Trust generally, to ensure that visitors receive engaging and accurate information. The postholder may be occasionally required to: Cover museum desk duties during the week and at weekends General cleaning and tidying. Note: Notwithstanding the Job Purpose and Duties & Responsibilities included in this job description, the postholder must be prepared to undertake additional tasks, duties and responsibilities at the discretion of the Learning Manager and that fall within the strategic objectives of the Ripon Museum Trust.
