Write and send the IEP within 10 school days along
with Prior Written Notice to parents
Parent should have a written IEP to review at least
14 days prior to the annual due date to allow the
parent and district to work on an agreed upon IEP
while the current IEP is still active.
Start date should be 14 days after IEP is written (can
start earlier)
If parent signs IEP and returns, the new IEP is in
effect. If parent takes no action, the IEP is in effect
after 14 days (except initial IEPs which need written
consent before services are provided)
