Local Press Local estate agent, Edward Creswick, has set a date for a sky dive in memory of a friend’s daughter. Mr Creswick, Managing Director of CJ Hole, plans to dive on June 8 in memory of Sian Wood, who died of heart condition. She was only 24 when she passed away. He got to know Sian’s mother and step-father through the Glastonbury & Street Musical Comedy Society last year when he joined after a gap of 25 years. “They were very welcoming and made feel totally at ease in a large cast of actors many of whom I’d not met before. When I read posts from Karen about her daughter on Facebook it made me feel very sad. Karen even had to struggle to get access to her daughter’s grave on her birthday due to the floods and this was very upsetting for all her friends to see how much she desperately missed her daughter. I decided I wanted to do something positive. Something that would put a huge smile on Karen’s face, something positive to keep Sian's memory alive and something positive to raise important funds for the British Heart Foundation, a charity very dear to Sian and her family.” Her friends and family say: “She was the centre of a diverse and adoring network of family and friends, who miss her deeply now that she is gone. Memories of her laughter, cups of tea and bowls of popcorn will be cherished eternally by those who remain. Sian lived her life in defiance of constant challenges and frustrations with fierce independence and an indomitable spirit, constantly surpassing the expectations of those around her. Her determination has inspired many of those who knew her to live life head on; this website is an attempt to capture Sian’s passion for life by honouring the efforts made in her memory.” Donations for the British Heart Foundation can be made on Edward’s JustGiving page: www.justgiving.com/Edward-Creswick1, or you can text WITC48 £20 (or any amount) to 70070. JustGiving sends donations straight to British Heart Foundation and, if you're a UK tax payer, automatically reclaims Gift Aid on British Heart Foundation's behalf, making your donation go further. What's more, JustGiving will never spam or sell your details. Pictures attached show Ed four years ago when he did his first tandem sky dive for Diabetes UK raising over £2000. He’d love to beat that target this time round. Press: For more information, Ed can be contacted by email edwardcreswick@cjhole.co.uk Jump information: After a short briefing you will be ready to take to the skies at altitudes up to 13,000 feet depending on weather and local air traffic control restrictions. Training is run throughout the day and students are strapped to the front of a Tandem Instructor who is there to control the entire skydive for you. Once you exit the aeroplane you will accelerate to 120 mph, covering each thousand feet in approximately five seconds. At 5,000 feet the Instructor will deploy the square parachute which will then be controlled by both persons until you land softly and gently some four minutes later.
