SCRIPPS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ACADEMIC FUNDRAISING PARTNERSHIP - MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, June 4, 2014 EBS Parent’s Room, 8:55 a.m. Members Present: Rashmi Krishna, Seema Moorjani, Gail Faber, Nancy Ferreira, Monika Wimmer, Stephanie Lehman, Traci Hart, Lisa Anderson, Parmi Toor, Juneth Partridge, Claudia Loam, Diane Reed, Debra Toth, Ellie Livingstone, Lydia Hwang-Vosovic, pam Marvuglio, Martina Montolva Seema welcomed everyone and explained that the purpose of the meeting was to plan out the AFP events calendar for next year. Nothing is set in stone, it's just a starting point to get events onto the calendar so that we make sure nothing is overlapping, or too much isn't going on in any given month. Started with August - KG orientation, set up for the Volunteer Fair, and the Posting Party will take place on Friday Aug. 29th. Seema to send out an email to request help for the set up of the Volunteer Fair Volunteer Fair to take place on September 2nd, the first day of school. Similar set up to last year and purpose it to let people explore volunteer opportunities and sign up. Ellie asked if volunteer clipboards will be out at KG orientation, and they will. September will have box tops campaign October will be Fall Festival. Aaron Lehman to be emcee again. November will have Character Ed food drive (nov 3rd through 14th). Book fair will take place from Nov. 12th through 21st. Nov. 21st is Grandperson's Day. Discussed the possibility of having a second mini book fair to coincide with teacher appreciation week and Spring Open House. Juneth and Parmi to poll volunteers to see if they can gather enough help to do a second mini fair in the spring. No major events in December January 10th will be mother/son bowling. End of Jan will be another box tops campaign February 11th will be the 100th day of school. Father/daughter dance to take place either Feb 20th or 27th, depending on availability of dj. Jog-a-thon tentative dates are March 6th and March 20th(rain date). Robyn to meet with Marci and Monika next week, so will let Seema know if other dates are better. Ellie wanted to put a tentative date for Food Pkg event for March 27th. Will depend on whether they can raise funds to do the drive. EBS Idol tentative date is Apr 24th, but depends on whether someone can be found to lead the event. Still no volunteers to chair it. Possible Character Ed Assembly either on Apr 30th, or May 1st. Teacher appreciation to take place week of May 11th, with Spring Open House on May 14th. Some discussion of bringing spring gala back for 2015-2016 school year. Discussed putting pictures taken by resident photographers up on a website for parents to purchase prints at a nominal cost. Also discussed idea of putting spirit wear for sale on website year round. Seema read the list of committee chairs for next year and thanked everyone for coming today to help plan out next year's events. Meeting adjourned at 9:55 Page 1 of 1
