No privates will be scheduled during team practices. FUNDRAISING Cheer Extreme All-stars Richmond will offer fundraising throughout the season. All fundraising is optional. A portion of what you earn will go towards the gym, community outreach programs and the balance towards your account. If you have a financial hardship, we recommend you take advantage of this opportunity. Fundraising amounts are non-refundable if you leave the gym for any reason. ATTENDANCE, TARDINESS , ABSENCES Excessive tardiness and absences are both harmful and disruptive to the team and very discouraging for the coaches and other athletes on the team. Every single person is vital to the success of the team. If a cheerleader is constantly late or missing practicing unexcused, proper actions will be taken with the best intentions of the team in mind. Athletes should arrive to the gym 10 minutes prior to their practice. If they arrive after practice begins, they will be subject to conditioning by their coach(s). For preplanned absences, a cheerleader needs to have coach’s approval at least 14 days in advance of an excused absence. Please complete the Absence Request form, have it signed by your coach and return to the Front Desk. A copy of this form can be downloaded from our website. If notification is less than 14 days, it will be considered ”unexcused” due to the short notice of trying to find a replacement for that cheerleader during practice. We are in heavy competition season and running full routines at each practice, so it is critical to have every spot filled. No practices may be missed in the 2 weeks leading up to a competition. For illness absences, the cheerleader/parent must notify the team mom/coach by noon on the day of practice. If your team has an earlier practice on Sunday, the team will determine what the appropriate time of notification is for an illness. If you fail to notify the team mom/coach regarding an illness absence it will be considered Not Excused, even if the team mom calls you. NO SHOW POLICY Any member who does not contact a coach or team mom prior to an absence will be charged a $25 NO SHOW FEE. After 3 Unexcused Absences you will be charged $25, and your position on the team will be re-assessed. Any member who does not contact a coach or team mom prior to a competition will be charged a $200 NO SHOW FEE. ATHLETE RULES OF CONDUCT Athletes will show good behavior towards staff, coaches, other athletes and parents at all time. There will be no talking, rolling eyes, negative comments, etc. while at practice and all gym events. If issues arise, the team mom will contact their parent(s). Athletes will show good sportsmanship at all times. We understand that many of you communicate with each other through electronic communications. Please remember that you represent Cheer Extreme and Cheer Extreme All-stars RVA at all times. We ask that you not take part or participate in any negative communication or derogatory comments about CEA, your CEA teammates, friends at other All-Star gyms, or any other All-Star program. CEA and CEARVA prohibit this type of behavior. Please be advised that it can be cause for immediate dismissal from our program. Please refer to the Social Media policy. You are required to pick up after yourself......don't leave empty drink/food containers lying around the gym. This is your gym so take pride in it. Wear your CEA gear with pride. Athletes are expected to attend their award ceremony in full uniform at all competitions unless released by their coach(s). While not competing or in awards, athletes must wear a jacket or cover up over uniform. PARENT RULES OF CONDUCT Good sportsmanship is mandatory at all competitions, practices and gym functions. Wear your CEA gear with pride. Under no circumstances should you enter the practice area at the gym. Do not yell or get your child's attention on the floor during practice. Do not gossip at the gym. This will result in closed practices. Please feel free to speak to your coaches; just remember to do it at the appropriate time. Do not interrupt practice. Ask to speak in private. Please respect the decisions the coaching staff makes as all decisions are in the best interest of the team and program. Anything said on Facebook, twitter and social networking that is negative to the Cheer Extreme Richmond / Extreme Richmond program as well as any other gym's program, WILL NOT be tolerated. Please refer to our Social Media policy. Parents of Tiny athletes must remain in the gym at all times their child is practicing. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 1) How will I know what team I make? As soon as all teams are decided you will be notified by email. 2) Does everyone make a team? Yes. We take all athletes present at evaluations onto a team. Placements are not finalized until the end of the summer. Athletes are expected to maintain the skill they performed at evaluations. Those who show vast improvement will be moved accordingly. 3) How are teams selected? Judges review each and every athlete and place them on a team based primarily on age, then by skill. It is key to have team tumbling skills executed by the majority of the team. It is our ultimate goal to place each child on a team that will challenge his/her current skills. Stunting, dance, and number of years with the program also play a role in each child's placement.. 4) Team Sport - Cheer Extreme Richmond All-stars must be your extra-curricular priority. This is a team sport dependent on the 100% participation of all athletes. Your practice and competition schedule are given well in advance. All events must be attended by all members. 5) Attire – PRACTICE: t-shirt, shorts, cheer shoes. COMPETITION: uniform, competition bow, white cheer shoes, white noshow socks, full makeup (as instructed by the gym), sports bra. (No undergarments showing.) 6) Injury - Athletes must be under the direct supervision of a coach to enter the facility or to be on any equipment at any time. It is our policy that if the athlete has been injured, in most cases, we require the athlete to be cleared by a physician and be back on the floor practicing for 2 weeks prior to the next competition. Parents must send a written note allowing their child to continue in the program if doctor's note is not presented. 7) One Team or Two Teams - If your athlete is selected to be on two teams and decides to do one instead, the younger of the two teams will be your child's team for the year. 8) How many Cheer Extreme locations are there and athletes? Ten locations: Charlotte, Hampton Roads, Kernersville, Lake Norman, Raleigh, Richmond, Roanoke, Salem, Sanford and Waldorf. There are over 1500 athletes. 9) Tiny & Prep Teams Enrollment – Cheerleaders will be added to these teams throughout the season. 10) Inclement Weather Policy - In the event of severe weather conditions, the gym will decide whether to close or not. Notification will be via Facebook, team mom and/or email. Safety is always first and foremost! 11) Closed Practices - Staff reserves the right to close practices at any time.
