Disposal of Plant - WHS Checklist This checklist is to be used when disposing of plant by sale, trade-in, transfer, donation, decommissioning, dismantling, salvage or dumping. Disposal Considerations Y Radiation Sources Approval by Regulator for disposal or transfer of radiation apparatus (eg. laser and x-ray equipment). (Contact WHS Unit). Plant/Equipment Are guarding/emergency stops/ safety devices in working order and adequate for the type of plant and the work it is used for? Can someone be injured from electric shock due to damaged electrical leads/cables or damaged switches or emergency stop devises? Can someone be injured by explosion of gases, vapours, liquids, dusts or other substances triggered by the operation of the plant or materials handled by the plant? Can someone using the plant slip, trip or fall due to uneven or slippery work surfaces or lack of guard rails or other suitable edge protection? Can someone come into contact with objects at high temperatures or be injured by fire when using this plant? Is there a risk of crushing from parts falling off, or uncontrolled or unexpected movement of the plant? Can someone be struck, cut, stabbed or punctured by this plant? Are hazardous (or other) wastes/pollutants likely to be released by this plant?
