This Syllabus will help you to identify Units of Study for the Child Development Gateways to
Opportunity Level I Credential. The opportunity to become credentialed is provided to you through
Gateways to Opportunity, a statewide professional development support system designed to
provide guidance, encouragement, and recognition to individuals and programs serving children,
youth, and families.
Gateways Credentials are symbols of professional achievement that validate knowledge and skills,
experience, and contributions in early care and education, infants and toddlers, and/or
administration.
