Environmental Science March 4- March 8 Check In/Do Know: (5min) What does temperature and pressure have to do with air circulation? Essential Question (s): What effects atmospheric circulation and water circulation? What does air circulation and energy flow have to do with the location of Rain Forests, Temperate, Polar, and Desert regions? How does energy flow through the Earth and what does it have to do with temperature? Standard(s) from Instructional Guide: 5a-5e, 6a, 6b Student Objective (s): Mon/Tues Direct- Students will comprehend information by taking notes and creating a summary that conveys the general idea of the station in 5 sentences or more. Independent- Students will evaluate information on temperature inversion by comparing and contrasting the normal situation of air circulation with air circulation of a temperature inversion. Students will compare and contrast an ocean without salt with a constant temperature with our ocean model with varied temperature and salinity. Collaboration- Students will synthesize information on Content Standards 5c-5d by answering the practice test questions with 90% correct. Students will synthesize what they know about atmospheric circulation by answering question on a worksheet. Wednes Students will evaluate what they have learned about the location of Deserts and Rainforests by completing a worksheet that compares and contrasts temperate and polar regions with Rainforest and deserts. Proficient or better. Thurs/Fri Students will evaluate information on climate and weather and Energy transfer by completing a Helping Trio with Proficient or better. Students will evaluate information on Climate effect by completing a Helping Trio with Proficient or better.
