Sample Hospitality Management Coursework Plan
Requirements: Total 72 credits minimum with at least 36 credits at ISU
(24 ISU credits over 5 consecutive semesters, 7 of which must be taken in
the first summer, to meet the residency requirement requirements)
• 30 credits from Master’s degree
• HRI 505 (1 credit), HRI 506 (1 credit), and HRI 604 (2 credits) = 4
• Minimum of 9 hours from 600 level courses (HRI 633, HRI 638, HRI 640,
HRI 652, and HRI 680)
• Dissertation research (HRI 699) = 15
• Statistics or Research Methods = 12 (some courses can be taken at other
institutions and transferred)
• The remaining 2 credits for electives (some courses can be taken at other
institutions and transferred)
