Discussion Week 4 How might a patient undergoing an invasive radiologic diagnostic procedure be at greater risk than a patient undergoing a non- invasive procedure? Well to start off an invasive procedure is usually a procedure that involves breaking of the skin. So, to do an invasive radiologic diagnostic procedure would be doing x-rays under the skin. This would in turn project the x-rays under the skin basically putting the radiation directly into the patient. This would make it so the patient would receive more radiation, where as a non-invasive would just be normal xrays and normal amounts of radiation. So, the greater risk would be the fact of giving the patient a higher dose of radiation.
