TENDER NOTIFICATION
Sealed superscribed separate tenders are invited for the
supply of
A. Buffalo, Beef, Veal, and Goat (Local Kerala breed) Carcass
B. Packed Buffalo, Beef meat.
Tender documents can be obtained from the Registered Office
of the Company till 4th November 2015 upto 2.00 pm. Tender
documents
can
be
downloaded
from
our
website
www.meatproductsofindia.com. Tenders not in the prescribed
priced Tender form or submitted with net cost of tender form (in
case downloaded) will be invalid and hence will be rejected outright.
The tenders will be accepted upto 2.30 pm on 4th of November 2015
and opened at 3.00 pm on the same day at the Registered Office of
the company at Koothattukulam.
To obtain Tender forms by post, a Demand Draft of Rs.1050/
(Rupees One Thousand and fifty only) taken in favour of Managing
Director, Meat products of India Ltd, Edayar P.O, Koothattukulam,
Ernakulam District – 686 662.

TECHNICAL BID
It is proposed to conduct a two bid tender system for
procurement of packed meat/carcass. Those who are satisfying the
criteria specified in the technical bid alone are permitted to attend
the price bid.
The average minimum monthly requirement is as follows.

Documents to be submitted with technical bid:
1. A pre tender agreement before opening of the tender.
2. A solvency certificate from a scheduled bank to be submitted
3. Copy of the license of the slaughter house / the lease agreement
and license, if leased plant.
4. The copy of the VAT registration.
5. EMD as mentioned above.
Packed Chilled Meat
1. Animals that are slaughtered should be in good health free from
any diseases.
Veterinarians/competent officers from the
company will conduct ante-mortem inspection and those animals
certified as fit for slaughter by the Veterinarian should only be
slaughtered.
2. All the personnel handling the abattoir should be subjected to
regular medical checkup at an interval of six months and the
medical certificate should be produced along with the tender.
3. The slaughter should be done in a hygienic Slaughter House
approved by Government/Company having sufficient water
supply for cleaning the animals/carcasses and offals. The water
used for cleaning and washing must be tested regularly for
coliforms and other microbes and a monthly report should be
submitted from a NABL accredited lab.
4. The slaughtered animals must be processed via over head rail
system. After slaughter Veterinarians from the company will do
the post-mortem examination and those carcasses certified as
unfit should be condemned. The carcass should be subjected to
chilling at 0-40C, thereafter deboning done in a clean room in a
hygienic method. The portioning of meat should be done as per
the specification given by the company. The retail cuts should be
free of all wastes viz, fascia, dung, blood clots, ligaments etc.
5. The process of deboning of carcass, cutting, packing etc, are to be
done under the supervision and direction of Veterinarians of Meat
Products of India Ltd. The packed meat should reach the
company ensuring that the cold chain is maintained at a
temperature of less than -180C.
6. Meat trimmings must be packed separately and the quantity of
trimmings should not exceed 2% of the total meat supplied.
Random sampling of the packed meat will be done and in case of
violation from the terms of tender, prorata deduction will be made
from the entire lot. The meat must be packed in plain polythene
bags of 1 kg capacity. The rate for the above items should be
quoted inclusive of transportation in insulated truck to our
company, cost of ice and other incidental expenses, if any.
7. Samples from each load of carcass will be given for
microbiological analysis at the supplier’s cost and if the result is
not according to the microbiological standards the total load will
be rejected.
Fresh Meat Carcasses

3. Suppliers should ensure minimum 45% packed meat yield for the
carcasses in the case of Beef, Buffalo and Veal carcasses, and 85
% in case of goat carcasses supplied. Otherwise pro-rata cutting
will be made. The rate for the above items should be quoted
inclusive of transportation in insulated truck to our company,
cost of ice and other incidental expenses, if any.
4. Samples from each load of carcass will be given for
microbiological analysis at the supplier’s cost and if the result is
not according to the microbiological standards the total load will
be rejected.
GENERAL RULES AND GUIDELINES
1. The order for the supply of carcasses/packed meat will be placed
one week in advance and the supply should be made as per the
purchase order. The requirement mentioned above are based on
approximations and any loss incurred to the supplier due to the
reduction in the quantity of the raw materials purchased should
be reconciled by the supplier himself and the Company will not
be liable for the above.
2. The supply schedule should be strictly followed and if the
supplier fails to supply the carcasses/packed meat as per the
schedule, the Company will be having the liberty to procure raw
materials for meat production from the local sources and the
excess amount incurred if any in this regard will be deducted
from the amount payable to the supplier.
3. The rate for the above items should be quoted inclusive of cost of
transportation of the materials to the company and all other
incidental expenses, if any.
4. The weight of the carcasses/packed meat will be reckoned at the
factory and 80% of the payment will be made by way of
cheque/RTGS/NEFT and the balance will be paid after assessing
the packed meat yield in case of carcasses/ quality in case of
packed meat.
5. Preference will be given to suppliers who have a proven track
record in the supply of carcasses/packed meat.
6. If your rates are found reasonable an agreement should be
executed by you/your firm with the company in Rs.200/-Kerala
stamp paper for uninterrupted supply for six months. You will
also be required to remit a sum of
Rs.5, 00,000/- as security
deposit, which will be refunded without interest on satisfactory
fulfillment of the contract after deducting liabilities if any.
7. Your tender with Earnest Money Deposit (refundable)
Rs.2,00,000/- (Rupees Two lakhs only) by Demand Draft in
favour of Meat Products of India Ltd., payable at Koothattukulam
should submitted along with the tender on or before 2.30 PM on
04.11.2015. E.M.D can also be remitted at our Regd. Office by
cash before 2.00 pm on 04.11.2015. In this case, cash receipt
issued by the company should be enclosed along with the tender.
The cover containing Technical Bid and Financial bid should be
placed separately superscribed with the words Tender for supply
of Carcass/Packed meat due on 04.11.2015.
8. Provisions contained in the Stores Purchase Manual of
Government of Kerala will also form a part of this Tender since
Meat Products of India Ltd. is bought under the purview of the
same.
