Pregnancy Visits
Congratulations on your pregnancy!
Below is a list of the visits you are entitled to free of charge under the HSE Maternity and Infant Scheme.
1 . Before 12 weeks - GP (or when pregnancy is confirmed)
2. Week 20 - Hospital
3. Week 24 - GP
4. Week 28 - GP (hospital if first pregnancy)
5. Week 30 - GP
6. Week 32 - Hospital
7. Week 34 - GP
8. Week 36 - Hospital
9. Week 37 - GP
10. Week 38 - Hospital
11. Week 39 - GP
12. Week 40 - Hospital
OGTT if required at 28 weeks
In the case of pregnancy problems or complications, you may be entitled to some additional visits which
shall be determined by your GP.
After the baby is born you are entitled to a 2 week and 6 week check up free of charge.
All childhood immunisations are also covered.
Non pregnancy related visits will be charged at normal
consultation fee.
