Teacher Leadership Development Pipeline Teacher Leader Facilitator APPLICATION PACKET Supporting Green Dot Teachers: The purpose of teacher supports is to advance teachers in their profession. Supports will be reflective, practical, job integrated and collaborative. They will be individualized by grade level, subject matter, and teacher’s needs. Collaboration is the foundation of teacher growth and is the responsibility of both teachers and support providers. The Green Dot Teacher Leadership Pipeline: Goal: To create a system by which aspiring teacher leaders within the organization may be identified, recruited, trained, and placed in instructional leadership positions, where they promote the core values of Green Dot Public Schools, and quality of College-Ready Teaching for all teachers in order to create a highly effective teaching force to ensure that all students receive a College-Ready education from each Green Dot school. Teacher Leader Facilitators 2011-12 SY: Teacher Leaders begin here to get training and develop their professional development facilitation skills for subject specific groups Teacher Leader Academy 2011-12 SY Teacher Leader Academy members will receive training to hone their coaching as well as training in inquiry group facilitation for their school site 1 class period released Master Teachers Mentor Teachers TENTATIVE: Mentor teachers will be part-time released from the classroom to coach small caseloads of teachers in their subject area 11 month work year TENTATIVE: Master teachers will be fulltime out of the classroom and provide support to mentor teachers and principals as well as have a caseload of teachers to support 2-year term limit 11 month work year Tentative: This graphic and teacher leadership pipeline is in development and is subject to change based on focus group, advisory panel, and financial inputs The Teacher Leadership Development Program (TLDP)—Teacher Leader Facilitators is one step in developing strong teacher leaders within the Green Dot organization. The Teacher Leader Facilitators Program will provide specific training to design and facilitate Benchmark Collaboration Days and subject-specific workshops. Training will be provided on how to facilitate Professional Development for subject–specific groups and how to support teacher development on the College-Ready Teaching Framework, specifically in Domain 2—Learning Environment and Domain 3—Instruction. (The transition to The College-Ready Teaching Framework will only take place with AMU ratification. Without ratification, TLF would support teachers in the CSTPs.)
