OVERALL PURPOSE
As the most senior marketing professional, advising the Executive Committee (EXCO) on all matters relating to the external positioning and profile of the Gresham’s brand, manage, motivate and develop direct reports in the operational aspects of Marketing and Admissions activities across the 3 schools and undertake a varied personal caseload of strategic and high level operations, aimed at maximising the conversion of pupil applications and, consequently, significantly helping to assure
Gresham’s short and longer term income streams.

INDICATION OF HOW TIME WILL BE SPENT
3.1
Getting work done through others as a result of effective line and relationship management within Gresham’s and in the wider world of suppliers, partners (e.g. OG’s, Foundation), feeder schools and parents/guardians of potential pupils – 20%.
3.2
Getting work done with others as a result of team-based activity, internally and externally, addressing the progress of both strategic and operational matters – 20%.
3.3
Own case load , substantially focused on outward facing activities to promote the Gresham’s brand e.g. external visits to feeder schools and establishments in UK and overseas and high profile marketing and ambassadorial initiatives. Included in this case load is the maintenance of a continuing professional and personal development programme – 60%.
4.
PRINCIPAL TASKS AND ACTIVITIES
Effectively oversee the day to day operations of the Marketing and Admissions Departments.
Contribute to the strategic planning and management of Gresham’s.
Develop and implement a whole school marketing and admissions strategy, liaising closely with the Business and Finance Director and focusing on the further development of the
Gresham’s brand.
Spend up to 50%/60% of time away from Gresham’s with feeder prep schools,
OG/Foundation contacts, relevant marketing and PR/publicity organisations, parents of potential pupils and overseas agents. Attend conferences, symposia and related events as both delegate and speaker/presenter and liaise with media bodies in order to influence Gresham’s inclusion in articles, features and reports and, on occasion, author material for publication.
Develop the in house skills of the Marketing Executive.
Develop own understanding of the Admissions and Registry Department.
Develop close internal links with such as the Director of Sport Development, Directors of
Music and Drama and Head of Art and construct cohesive marketing initiatives around these aspects of Gresham’s rounded education offering.
Ensure a seamless approach to Marketing and Admissions across the 3 schools.

THE PERSON
Highly experienced in both strategic and operational marketing and brand management.
Graduate or Equivalent.
Post graduate diploma/masters in marketing or equivalent.
Ideally direct experience of working within independent academia but, as a minimum, a good understanding and affinity for this sector.
Prepared to travel extensively in the UK and overseas.
A born “ambassador” and advocate.
Strong line and relationship management skills.
