Cumulative 3.5 – 4.0 GPA, based on GPA from all undergraduate schools attended. Academic record lists achievement and determination in line with aspirations Sophomore status: will have sufficient credits to transfer to 4-yr college in the fall; or are a recent graduate (within 5 years) planning to attend a 4-yr college for the first time in the fall Achievement: show high academic performance or steady improvement, including rigorous curriculum and/or Honors courses, member of Honors, Phi Theta Kappa, on the President’s List, and/or received special awards. Unmet Financial Need: Educational costs are greater than the total amount of grants or scholarships, insufficient student and family income to meet education cost. Plans to complete FAFSA in January prior to transfer Desire to engage in and contribute to the world. Have engaged in purposeful and meaningful commitment to others evidenced by participation in volunteer/community service activities, developed programs, tools, products to help others, completed research into important issues, or created works of art to share with others. Persistence and determination in achieving goals, demonstrates intellectual curiosity. Have Self-Confidence/positive self-esteem, believes in oneself, takes appropriate risks, feels comfortable in seeking help and getting advice. 4. Identify two (2) Recommenders who can provide substantive assessment and thoughtful observations of your achievements, knows you well. First person must be an academic professional at MiraCosta College, an advisor, instructor, or professor, well acquainted with your work and character. Second person may be an academic professional at MiraCosta College, instructor, professor, advisor, or other person well acquainted with your work and character You enter your recommenders' email addresses into the online application, and they will be sent an email with a link to access the required form. Gather your Federal tax returns from the previous three (3) years If you are under 30 years of age at the time of the application deadline, Financial Information is required from both of your biological or adoptive parents regardless of the applicant’s dependent or independent status. If the applicant’s parents are not married to each other, there is a separate form for each parent. If there is only one parent (the second parent is deceased, unknown, or missing), then the sole parent must complete the form. 6. Order Official Transcripts from all colleges attended within the last 15 years. An application that does not include transcripts from all colleges will be considered incomplete. 7. Register and Start the application right away. 8. Short Answers and Essays.
