Page 1 of 2 Research Scientist (OXBREG5) Oxford, Oxfordshire Salary competitive Permanent Profile of Role Oxford BioMedica’s research group is seeking to expand and strengthen its team by recruiting an experienced scientist to support the development of an increasing portfolio of cell and gene therapies. The company has a platform of exclusive and pioneering technologies on which are designed, developed and manufactured unique gene-based medicines. In order to support a substantial phase of growth and increasing number of research activities, we are looking to appoint a Research Scientist. The successful candidate will be involved in the development of gene, cell and tissue therapies for the treatment of a variety of disease indications across a range of fields. A highly motivated and independent individual is sought to work within this team. The successful candidate will be expected to: undertake experimental work including molecular biology for new programmes as required, such as construction and testing of putative therapeutic genomes, optimisation and characterisation of small-scale vector preparations in vitro to have a strong background in molecular biology be capable of quickly learning new concepts and techniques be responsible for managing their own work schedules assist with other activities within the Research Group Skills/Knowledge/Qualifications Applicants must have: PhD in relevant Bioscience (e.g. molecular biology, vectorology) Relevant lab technical experience with particular emphasis on Molecular Biology, Tissue Culture and PCR-based techniques. Excellent lab-based skills. Good level of communication and presentation skills. Key Tasks Undertake several lines of research in the pipeline. Independently manage daily research activities. Keep excellent experiment/data records. Support other members of the both the team and wider Research Group as required.
