Bulldogs Discovering Our H2O Connection
Our “Wonder Wednesdays” continue to focus Bulldog scholars on “Discovering their H2O connection.” This week they are learning about water
usage and how it has changed over the centuries and decades. Take time and ask your scholar what he/she has learned about their connections
with H2O. I will see you on Friday for the Awards Assembly.

Flu Season
As you may be aware, we have had a high incidence of the flu and flu-like symptoms at Santa Clarita Elementary. We are monitoring it closely and
sharing required information with our local health department. In the meantime, we request your assistance in trying to prevent the spread of illness
by: * Encouraging your child to wash his/her hands frequently and cover his/her mouth with the back of their sleeve when coughing or
sneezing.
* Keeping your child home if they are developing a fever (a temperature of 100 degrees or higher), and continuing to keep them home
for at least 24 hours until they are fever-free without the help of fever-reducing medication.
* Keeping your child home if they are experiencing any diarrhea, vomiting, aches/chills, unexplained rash, repetitive cough, or other
condition which may possibly indicate a communicable illness.

Valentine Grams
6th Grade is selling Valentine Grams for .50 cents. Send one to a friend or your teacher. All orders are due by 2/6 and will be delivered on 2/12.
Look for the flyer in your child's backpack or on the school website. Thank you for supporting the Class of 2015!
Saugus High School’s Elementary Outreach Night
All 5th and 6th grade students and families are invited to the Saugus High School Elementary Outreach Night on Tuesday, January 27th at 5:00 pm.
Dinner will be served in the MPR, meet with the staff, tour the campus, receive a free t-shirt and attend a varsity basketball game. See you on the
court for the half-time competition!
Yearbook Orders
Forms are available on the website or you can pick one up from the office. Price is $38.
McDonalds Restaurant Night
Join some of the Santa Clarita Staff for McDonalds Restaurant Night on Tuesday, January 27th from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
20% of all net sales will be given back to our school. Remember to bring the flyer that will be going home the day before.
Spelling Bee will be held February 3rd for grades 2 – 4 and February 4th for grades 5 & 6.

Six Flags Read to Succeed Six Hour Reading Club
Santa Clarita is participating in an exciting program that encourages students in grades K – 6 to read for fun.
Transitional K and Kindergarten Round Up
Transitional K and Kindergarten Round Up will be the week of February 23rd for the 2015 – 2016 school year. Children who turn 5 by September 1st
are eligible for kindergarten and children who turn 5 between September 2nd and December 2nd are eligible for the Transitional Kindergarten
program. Please bring an original birth certificate, verification of immunizations and two proofs of residence when you register.
