Timeline: 8:00-8:45 Tech Infusion: Podcasting Learning Styles Part II Explain and Brainstorm Implementation Examples: Learning Stations 8:45-9:00 Break 9:00-10:45 DI Activity Creation Time This is work time in your area. Some may go to the lab. Some may go work with others within their department at another area. Return at 11:00. Facilitators should use this time to work also. Creation ideas: tic tac toe, choice boards, think dots/cubing, learning stations, tech infusion ideas, other 10:45-11:00 Break 11:00-11:30 Share in unique groups of 5 within your room – see how the ideas of others might be helpful: Have teachers/counselors mix up who is sitting at a table and briefly share: (a) a differentiated example you have begun or thought about OR (b) complete the following statement as you seek input from the group: “I don’t understand…” or “How do you…” 11:30-1:00 Lunch (on your own) 1:00-3:00 2nd Semester Preparation (per department chair) Materials needed: Teachers/counselors will need their computers to look up their classes on the database. “How to View Student Learning Styles – Flyer.pdf” for you to reference if directions are needed. Example you want to show for Learning Stations (on wiki only, you print if you want hard copies) 1 Agenda (times are approximate, modify by your group’s needs) 1. (Green & Gold Groups Together) - Tech Infusion: Podcasting (15 minutes) This will be led by a tech coach coming to your area 2. Learning Styles Part II (15 minutes) Have teachers go the Teachers Extra Folder and find the database: O:\Teacher_Extras\Staff Development Information\FHS - Student Learning Styles – Database Have them filter the database to see a first semester class (The database will be updated for second semester ASAP – all will be notified when it is ready.) See what discussion you can create from what they see? o How can they use this? o Are there any patterns within classes, comparing classes? o Any unique patterns in levels? o Look at another class. 3. Explain & Brainstorm Examples of Implementation for: Learning Stations (10 min.) Keep them thinking/sharing how they could modify this for their classroom. a. Go through the word document for Learning Stations (Learning Stations.docx) The example is on the above document! **Have them brainstorm ideas for using Learning Stations in class by readiness. The key is that not all students need to go to every station, but to the ones they need! 2
