Dear Senior Parents:
You are invited to join us as we honor your senior at Senior Day on Thursday, May 28th at 10am in the WHS
Auditorium. Attendance for this program requires a ticket due to limited seating in the auditorium (please complete
and return the enclosed ticket order form by May 21). A short reception for the Class of 2015 and their invited
guests will follow the Senior Day program.
If you are knowledgeable of any scholarships or honors that your senior will be receiving, please complete the
enclosed scholarship form and return to Erin Wright by May 13 if you would like for them to be included in the
scholarship portion of Senior Day.
Please note that Awards Day for the entire school is May 21 at 8:15am in the WHS Auditorium. REGULAR school
dress code will be STRICTLY enforced.
Senior Exams are May 22. If exempt, students will still be required to attend class until 10a.m.
I am enclosing a Graduation Celebration Consent & Release/Student-Parent Agreement form (Note: form is two
sided). The permission form is due to me on Friday, May 15.
The Graduation Commencement will be held Friday, May 29th at 8pm at Red Raider Stadium. Tickets are not
required for the graduation service. In case of rain, graduation will be relocated to the high school gymnasium.
ALL graduates must be in the WHS Cafeteria by 6:30pm. Parents may come from 6:30-7pm to take group
pictures, if desired.
The Winnsboro community is very supportive of seniors and a calendar of senior activities is included in this letter
for your reference. As always, we expect our students to behave in the proper manner at each of the senior
functions. We ask that you please help us in instructing seniors on the proper behavior for formal occasions.
They will need to be respectful, quiet, and attentive while all activities are going on at Senior Day and Graduation.
Also, please encourage your senior to write a thank you note to all the churches/businesses who host special
dinners/receptions in their honor.
Finally, we would like to ask for your help in making sure that your senior comes dressed properly for each occasion.
Please see the Dress Code Requirements for Senior Day and Graduation on the back of this letter. Seniors not
dressed properly will be sent home to change.
I have enclosed parent ribbons for you to wear to Senior Day and Graduation. If you need more, let me know. You
will need to add pins to attach the ribbon to your lapel. NOTE: you will still need a ticket for entry to the Senior Day
program.
