Boren Awards for International Study For undergraduate students: Award amounts vary depending on program length; up to $20,000 for a full academic year, up to $10,000 for a semester, and up to $8,000 for summer (summer grants are available to STEM students only). For students interested in languages and area studies. Students must pursue study of languages, geographic areas and fields of study critical to U.S. National Security. Recipients are expected to fulfill service requirement with U.S. government upon graduation or termination of studies. Seniors are eligible to apply provided that they do not graduate until they have completed their proposed study abroad program.
