Notice of Appointment Center for Interuniversity Research and Analysis of Organizations Monique Jérôme-Forget joins CIRANO as a Guest Fellow The Center for Interuniversity Research and Analysis of Organizations (CIRANO) is proud to announce the return of Monique Jérôme-Forget to her scholarly roots as she joins a team of academics involved in promoting Quebec's economic development. As a Guest Fellow, Ms. Jérôme-Forget will participate in research endeavours, particularly in the area of women's participation and leadership in the labour force. Ms. Jérôme-Forget has served as Minister of Finance, Chair of the Treasury Board, Minister responsible for Government Administration, and Minister of Government Services in the Quebec Government. She has a long track record with various public and parapublic bodies. She studied economics at the University of London, history at Johns Hopkins University, political science at the University of Montreal, and psychology at McGill University, where she earned her Ph.D. As a Guest Fellow, Monique Jérôme-Forget joins the ranks of a group who has made considerable contributions to Quebec society: Robert Amzallag, Claude Castonguay, Paul Gauthier, JeanMarc Rousseau, and Louise Roy. Founded in 1993, CIRANO consists of representatives from every university in Quebec and from several leading corporations. It is home to more than 100 researchers interested in topical areas such as environment, health (especially the whole field of risk management and patient safety), education (funding and the issue of dropping out), taxation, government debt, pensions, integration of immigrants in the labour market, etc. Furthermore, CIRANO distinguishes itself with its experimental economics laboratory, wherein it tests different responses and the role played by institutions, thus contributing to the development of government policy.
