Research Interests
My current research is focused on emergency response and crisis management. However, I continue to
work in my previous area of sustainability related to product returns, waste reduction, and closed-loop
supply chains in process industries.

Major Projects
•
Developed, implemented, and monitored processes for re-using product returns,
including processes for handling residue remaining in returnable containers and for
reusing rinse water from tank and equipment changeover.
•
Waterbase Expansion Project: Consulted with manufacturing on water base
expansion project. Project involved recommending tank materials for raw material
storage, selecting piping materials and pump materials for raw material transfer
systems, determining which raw materials should be in bulk storage with fixed piping
systems, and establishing load cell and scale accuracy requirements.
•

World Class Manufacturing Project: Project leader for corporate project to monitor
and improve company performance on all levels. Project involved selecting audit
team leaders for seven key areas, overseeing annual audits and score calculation,
working with team leaders to develop improvement projects, and monitoring audit
results and improvement goals.
