The Central Wisconsin Country Store, in Marshfield, hosted their annual Purina Check-R-Board Days event (November 9th – November 14th), but in a new way! This year the Country Store invited local pet owners to partake in a Vaccination Clinic Saturday, November 14th, right at the store! Local veterinarian, Dr. Jennifer Mihlbauer, of Blue Skies Large & Small Animal Clinic, in Stratford, was our guest veterinarian, and was a huge hit with the animals! Throughout Saturday morning of the clinic, over 70 animals were vaccinated! HART Equine Therapy Center, of Auburndale, was also present during the morning event to raise money for their organization. Kim Sievers, executive director of HART, brought in her mini horse mascots, Hart and Cocoa, too! With such a successful day, the Country Store looks forward to hosting more Vaccination Clinics in the future. As a part of Purina Check-R-Board Days, customers were able to enter their names in a drawing throughout the week for a chance to win a $200 Purina gift card to use at the Country Store. On top of that, the winning customer was also given a $200 Purina gift card to award to their favorite local animal charity! This year’s winners of their own $200 worth of Purina feed were Rick and Nancy Merkel, of Auburndale. Rick and Nancy, kindly, chose Scott and Karen Bayerl, of Midwest Horse Welfare Foundation, equine rescue center, of Pittsville, to be the recipients of the matching $200 Purina gift card! Scott and Karen are truly appreciative of the donation made to them. In fact, it is the second year they’ve been the recipients! Just last year, Midwest Horse Welfare Foundation was the winner of Purina Check-R-Board Days Drawing, receiving $400 towards Purina feed at the Country Store. Scott and Karen wasted no time in spending the gift card, and brought home bags of Purina Equine Senior Active feed for their rescue horses. 2015 rescues of Midwest Horse Welfare Foundation, Lady and Teddy
