ANNUAL FLU CAMPAIGN FLU REGRETFULLY CONTRIBUTES TO THE DEATH OF THOUSANDS OF HIGH RISK PATIENTS EVERY YEAR. The following are classed by the Dept of Health as AT HIGH RISK and strongly recommended to receive a flu vaccination every Winter: All those over 65 years of age as at: 31/3/2015 All patients with: Heart Disease including Stroke, Diabetes, COPD, Severe Asthma ( only if on repeat inhalers or steroids) other respiratory conditions, Asplenism, Hodgkins Disease, Myeloma, Cirrhosis, Alcoholism, HIV, Renal Failure, Liver disease or immunosuppressed due to illness or treatment e.g. Chemotherapy. Plus: Currently pregnant, Sole carers of those at high risk. (Note NHS & Nursing Home staff are now their employer’s responsibility) And: ALL CHILDREN AGED 2, 3 or 4 as AT 1 SEP 2014 Or in year 7 & 8 DOB BETWEEN 1/9/01 to 31/8/03 HELP US TO KEEP YOU HEALTHY THIS WINTER – BOOK A FLU JAB THE MAIN PRACTICE FLU CLINIC will run from: 24th September to 1st November including 3 Saturday mornings BOOKING LINE OPENS ON: 15th September PHONE: 01905 726444 after 11 am, on or after 15/9/14 please HOME VISITS We have over 2,500 patients to vaccinate which means that all our nurses will have to work very long hours. A single home visit can take 30 to 45 minutes because of traffic.
