YCFC Foundation has developed dramatically since it began in early 2007, through its football in the community initiatives and has grown massively over the 8 years to deliver in well over 100 schools per year, seeing over 18000 young people per season and working with over 1500 people aged 3 to 73+… per week. YCFC Foundation activities are driven by aims to increase sports participation, with coaches delivering football and education workshops within schools; offering holiday football courses and player development centres; birthday parties and talent identification programmes. The strategic aims of the project are to. • increase PE and School Sport support for KS2 •increase extra curriculum delivery •up skill teaching staff or school volunteers •create newly established primary schools teams – mixed/boys/girls •To sign post gifted and talented players to the correct exit routes The way we will achieve these aims is by coordinating a 10 -12 week schools programme for key stage 2 Girls and boys. This programme will contain: 8 weeks of in school coaching following the national curriculum framework and using football as the vehicle to make sessions fun and engaging. 4 weeks of enrichment sessions covering healthy living and respect in sport, Q&A session from YCFC professional and possible stadium visits. 12 weeks extra curriculum Football sessions to develop the full potential of the footballers whilst also up skilling the member of the school teaching staff or a parent/community volunteer to be confident and knowledgeable enough to organise the school football team long term. Friendly Inter school football matches until it is possible to affiliate into the regular competitive football school leagues are possible. To assist the new team manager/ coach’s professional development, YCFC foundation may be able to subsidise their enrolment onto FA level 1 coaching certificate as well as providing opportunities to visit YCFC Elite & Academy training sessions and fixtures to gain a greater knowledge of team management. To ensure the school has the sufficient equipment YCFC Foundation will also provide the school with a football coaches starter pack containing footballs, bibs, and cones All of the above will be completely free of charge to primary schools that can fulfil the criteria below Have a motivated member of the school teaching staff or school volunteers willing to attended the in school or extra curriculum football sessions and become a school team football manager The chosen team manager must be willing to attending Continuing Professional Development were possible. The school and team manager to commit to sustaining the football teams after the programme has ended Provide YCFC Foundation with all names of participants P.P.A Time or Subject Leader Time Cover With all teachers receiving 10% non-contact time, we are aware that schools are looking for enriching opportunities for children while their teachers complete planning, preparation and assessments. Why not allow us to take care of this provision for P.E ? Knowing how important it is that teachers get uninterrupted PPA Time, we can assure you a service that maintains professional standards and high expectations being set by the teachers in your school. With the expectation that all children take part in at least 5 hours of PE and sport per week, we can work alongside you to ensure this is achieved in your school and plan sessions to ensure they meet the school’s requirements. The cost per coach per hour is £30 (reduce cost can be discussed dependent on numbers of hours booked ) . The session will be run by one member of our team, who will come to the school for an hour or an entire morning / afternoon, based on timetable periods to free up teaching staff. All our coaches are minimum FA Level 2 qualified, and have attended First Aid and Child Protection training and have enhanced DBS certificates. York City Football Club Foundation provides highly qualified and experienced staff who delivers all aspects of our service; Registration of children at the beginning of a morning or afternoon Changing children pre and post lesson Delivery of structured Short term – Medium term lessons that fits with the school Long term development plans Continually trained internally on all aspects of behaviour management and Health and Safety Guaranteed cover of absence by an internal member of staff Consistency of same staff working in the school throughout year ( where ever possible) All staff delivering PPA/Subject leader cover will be working towards AFPE Level 3 in Physical Education and School Sports Lesson will content will cover Key stage 1 · Master basic movements including running, jumping, throwing and catching, as well as developing balance, agility and co-ordination, and begin to apply these in a range of Multi Skill Activities. · Participate in team games, developing simple tactics for attacking and defending · Perform simple movement patterns developed through various fun games and activities Key stage 2 · · · Use running, jumping, throwing and catching in isolation and in combination play various competitive games, modified where appropriate, and apply basic principles suitable for attacking and defending Develop flexibility, strength, technique, control and balance using a range of movement patterns developed through various fun games and activities Compare their performances with previous ones and demonstrate improvement to achieve their personal best. We currently deliver this service to many schools, providing a bespoke package that meets the needs and requirements of any school. This is organised through an initial meeting when one of our team comes to the school and everything is discussed, from timetables, staffing and curriculum right through to school policy and reward systems. Curriculum Support Lessons – Football or Multi – Skills Cost: £25 per hour York City Football Club Foundation can offer a Half term or Full term conducting coaching sessions within school time (9.15 am 2.45 pm.) to all year groups, or specific year groups. The sessions are designed for maximum fun in a safe learning environment; with something to offer every child, whatever their ability and experience. The programme is tailor made to meet the needs and wants of each participant in line with the National Curriculum of Key Stages 1-2 including reception YCFC Foundation can provide medium term lessons plans showing lesson content and learning objectives as well as a simple class evolution sheet at the end of each term. Sponsored Penalty Shoot-out Fundraiser An ideal way to fundraise for your school or a selected charity. This can be bolted on to any of the YCFC Foundation school programmes or offered as a standalone event. YCFC Foundation will organise a sponsored penalty shootout, which is a great day for the children, and a good fundraiser for the school. All children and teachers in the school will be given the opportunity to take part in the penalty shootout. Each person takes 5 penalties against our goalkeeper, and the child that scores the most goals in each class will receive a prize. Participants will then have 2 weeks to collect their sponsorship money and bring it into school. The monies raised are split 50/50 between the school and YCFC Foundation, and the YCFC Foundation team will complete a prize presentation following receipt of their share of monies. Prizes: Raise £25 or more and you will receive a signed York City ball Raise £50 or more and you will receive a signed York City ball and match day voucher (1 children and 1adult for a specified game) Raise the most in the school (Over £50) and you will receive a signed York City ball,(1 children and 1adult for a specified game) , and a York City home shirt After School Football Coaching / Multi- Skills Clubs Cost £24.00 for a 6 week course per participant (course length can be altered to fit length of half term) Minimum number required 10, Maximum 16 This is a six week football specific coaching course where the YCFC foundation coaches conduct sessions after school hours for children attending your school. This package runs for a single six week block or can be extended to run from term to term. This can be funded through PE and school sports funding or charged directly to the participant’s parents/guardians. The after school coaching programme is designed around the needs of the National Curriculum of Key Stages 1-2 using football as vehicle to engage the participants and achieve learning outcomes The club can also be designed cover multi-skills, specific key stages or Girls specific dependent upon the needs of the schools Educational Workshop Programme Cost £50 half, £80 full day (max 2 classes per half day) 9.30am -2.45pm York City Football Club Foundation offers various different workshops, which are designed to help children gain a better understanding of social inclusion, health and fitness benefits, which will challenge the children future thinking. These can be tied in with school projects and initiatives such as Walk to School Week, Healthy Schools Week. Anti-Bullying/Respect The aim of the workshop is to give children a understanding of how bullying can affect people and to give the children a understanding of how small things they do can have a massive effect on the person they involve. The Workshop is split in half to involve activities in a sports hall/playground and half classroom based activities Fun and Fitness The workshops aim is to be inclusive to all children to encourage and promote keeping fit regardless of any negative experiences they have had in the past. The children will do individual skills and also take part in team games to promote working together and teamwork as well as getting a positive experience of keeping fit. Which will then stay with them and have a healthy benefit to them in future. Healthy living The workshop will offer a 60 minute activity per class to be delivered by York City FC Foundation coaches and will include: a 30 minute classroom based programme on healthy eating and the five food groups, followed by a 30 minute outside fitness exercise highlighting the importance of exercise to stay healthy. The classroom based activity will be designed to be delivered inside, with hand-outs and interactive games, and will encourage participation and discussion from the children. YCFC Foundation recognise that it is important for children to have an understanding about health and wellbeing and hopefully by participating in such a programme, will enable children to engage with healthy eating and exercise as part of their everyday life. The class exercises are designed to help young people acquire the knowledge, attitudes, values and skills needed to adopt healthy lifestyles from a young age. As well as actively encouraging the parental awareness of health and wellbeing and the need for such healthcare. Football League Kids & Girls Cup 2015/16 York City Football Club Foundation is delighted to announce their continued involvement in Football League Kids Cup & Girls Cup. The competition is open to all primary schools from York, Ryedale, Selby, Craven, Hambleton, Richmond, Harrogate and Scarborough, and is run by the YCFC Foundation team, North Yorkshire Sport and the relevant School Sports Partnerships. York City Football Club Foundation represents the only professional football club in the North Yorkshire region so we are encouraging all 9 North Yorkshire district to take part. Each school partnership will be required to compete in a partnership tournament in their local area to find a partnership finalist. The 9 partnership finalist will then take part in an area final to compete for the title of York City Football Club Foundation Kids/Girls Cup finalist, and will then go an represent the club in a regional and potentially national final at Wembley, if successful At every stage there are some great prizes for schools to win such as team kits and footballs, along with medals, trophies and certificates so all participants can remember their achievement of taking part in one of the country's largest national football competitions. The Girls cup is aimed at U13/Yr 7 & 8 with the local final taking place in October 2015 with the Kids Cup aimed at boys U11/Yr5 & 6 Local final to be in January 2016.
