I graduated from a fully accredited AVMA Veterinary Technology program and have passed the California veterinary exam for my license as of March 16, 2011. I am hoping to be an integral part of a veterinary team in any capacity as I become more experienced. My name is Jennifer Gorin. I am from West Virginia where I grew up on a farm that provided most of our sustenance and had a handful of farm animals. I am proud, honored and fortunate that I was able to experience such a close relationship with the earth and with my animals. Along with my farm animals, I had dogs and cats to keep company. I dreamed of being Tarzan, so of course, my first animal that was mine, a kitten, I promptly named “Tarzan.” As my adult years have gone by, I have pursued different interests in school and work. I went to school for Criminal Justice but did not follow that road after getting to know myself better. I have worked in all aspects of the hospitality/restaurant industry. I have had my own Home Organization business, landscaped, participated in sales/retail and childcare. I have struggled with my desires and pursuits admittedly. My inspiration for finding my heart, what I want to dedicate myself to, came through the gift of my dog, Aj. I have had him since he was six and a half weeks old and he is almost 14. Through my bond with him, my heart and mind have opened up and committed to many things I had been keeping myself from. Unfortunately, after my graduation from Veterinary Tech School, I was needed to take care of a family member which took me away from being able to go directly to work in the field. I can now dedicate my job pursuit toward the veterinary environment and not just take a job to have a job. I miss it dearly. I chose to attend a Veterinary Technology program, believing it would be an excellent foundation no matter where my path leads me in the Veterinary world. The qualities I bring to you encompass maturity and poise, a consciousness of persons and situations, personal accountability, sincere, kind and respectful communication, motivation, flexibility and versatility, a generous and cohesive attitude towards team effort, a generous helping of levity and comfort and an overall willingness to grow in all aspects of who I am. My goal is to be a part of a work environment that encompasses integrity, that is supportive and kind, inspirational, progressive and a true team. I want to share my compassion and happiness and hopefully it will proliferate afar. I respect your time and thought in reviewing my resume and look forward to a new beginning.
