PI and COPI in the following studies 1- Salheya Initiative for Women's Economic Empowerment (2010-2015) In the context of the integrated strategy for the working woman launched by the Ministry of Manpower and Emigration; The Salheya initiatives seeks to advance gender equity by enabling women to participate effectively in the economic sphere; supporting them to improve their economic security and rights as well as institutionalizing norms and values of gender equity in the workplace and accordingly the overall society. SRC is providing support to this initiative by conducting base line data, identifying needs; provide technical support to the Ministry and conduct monitoring and evaluation of impact. The sample size included around 1000 households, 1000 individuals and 300 firms of different sizes. In addition around 10 focus groups discussions and 5 success stories were documented. A base line was conducted during and currently the end line survey is being conducted. 2- Safe cities free of violence against women and girls (2009-now) The safe cities programme is dedicated to reducing violence women and girls in urban areas, while improving the quality of life for all city dwellers. The Safe Cities programme focused on slum areas and the poorest urban dwellers in Quito (Ecuador), Cairo (Egypt), New Delhi (India), Port Moresby (Papua New Guinea) and Kigali (Rwanda). The sexual harassment against women and girls in urban setting in Egypt called for the need for evidence based research to guide policies aiming at making cities safe for women & girls. The study aimed to perform the safety audit in the selected areas in collaboration with NGOs working on the ground areas, The sample of the baseline survey included 3000 households, 13000 individuals (men, women, girls) in addition to 36 IDIs and 9 FGDs. 3- Analyzing data on "Woman Empowerment in Iraq (2011-2012) The aim of this study was to conduct an in-depth analysis on the data collected from the pilot study on “Iraq Woman Social and health Status” and produce 4 technical reports on: • Women’s empowerment: concepts and realities, •Violence Against Woman • Maternal and Reproductive Health 3 These reports aim at informing policies targeting empowering women and improving their living conditions 4- Gender Equity Model (2007-2010) The project aimed to applying the gender equity model in selected organizations in Egypt. The specific objectives included: - Raising awareness in the regard to the conditions of equality between men and women in the work. - Taking into account the gender issues in the organizations. - Applying a certification process to distinguish, with a seal, those organizations that support women's rights. SRC collaborated with ICRW in planning and implementing a quantitative employee baseline and end line survey to monitor and evaluate the impact of the gender equity seal project. The data collection and analysis covered 20 organizations and around 100 managers and 1000 workers.
