Terms and Conditions for the GEAS Exhibition19th June to 13th July, 2014
• All artwork must be original and ALL participants must be financial members of the Glen Eira Artists’
Society Inc.(GEAS). New members are welcome to join and be part of the exhibition and must be financial
members by the date of registration, 21st April 2014.
• The proposed art works can include painting, drawing, and photography.
 Selection of works.
o Each participant will self-select ONE piece of artwork-size unlimited. This work will be
automatically accepted for the Exhibition as one of the benefits of being a member of GEAS.
o Artists are encouraged to submit a second or multiple pieces. The size of additional works is
limited to 80cm in width.
o Additional works will be submitted to an Independent Selection Panel made up of experienced
artists. The decision of the Panel will be final and will be made on 1st June.
 Registration Fee of $25 includes the participation fee for ONE artwork.
 If your additional work is selected by the Independent Selection Panel an additional fee of $25 is required
per artwork by Monday 9th June. If the additional fee is not received at this time space will be allocated to
another artwork. If paid at the time of registration on 21st April and the work is not selected, then this
payment will be refunded by Monday 16th June.
 GEAS will NOT charge any commission on sales of work.
 A good quality image of All artworks including size and title must be submitted directly by email to Gillian
Schofield by 15th May at gbschofield@optusnet.com.au. This will enable the Exhibition Organizers to
determine space requirements for the exhibition. These images will be forwarded for the selection process
by the Independent Selection Panel.
 If you require your work to be photographed, assistance can be provided by contacting Gillian Schofield at
gbschofield@optusnet.com.au. It is the responsibility of the artist to deliver and collect their work from
Gillian and arrange a convenient time.
 Once your submission is received you will be contacted to confirm acceptance of additional work if selected
by the Independent Selection Panel
 Each completed work must be dry, framed and submitted ready to exhibit or hang on Sunday15th June and
be accompanied by a piece of paper indicating the name of the artist, contact details, size, medium used
and sale price.
 Each participant as part of their entry fee will receive 5 postcards which will be their free entry ticket for
Opening night on Wednesday 18th June for themselves and 5 guests. If additional tickets are required they
can be purchased from the GEAS Committee at a cost of $20.
 All Artists retain copyright in their original work. On entering the exhibition GEAS will receive a limited
royalty free license of the images, this will enable GEAS to provide advertising material for its website,
facebook page and other advertising material as it pertains to the GEAS 2014 exhibition.
 Insurance of works on Exhibition- it is the responsibility of exhibiting artists to insure their work.
 Residency: Residency in Glen Eira is not a precondition to eligibility for Exhibition
 Please note that volunteers are needed to help staff the sale table at the Gallery. A roster notice will be
sent out later.
