Area of Expertise:
Plant Pathology including Post-Harvest Microbial Technology.
Research Emphasis:
My research interest underscores various post-harvest diseases of cereals, pulses,
fruits and vegetables and to examining the toxicity of principal compounds of various
essential oils (plant products) against post-harvest pathogens to understand the
mode of action and their possible safety application in preservation of food
commodities including minimization of mycotoxin contamination. Special interest is
also focused on some plant diseases such as wilting, damping off and their
management by natural products. Pathogens of interest include Alternaria,
Aspergillus, Penicillium, Fusarium, Verticillium, Callosobruchus, Tribolium species.
During MSc program I have also worked on disease symptoms and etiology of
pathogens of several diseases of crop plants occurring in and around cultivated
lands of Gorakhpur.
