Local Sol in Historic Downtown Willoughby October 27, 2015 WILLOUGHBY, OH -- A new way of fine cuisine and genuine service in Downtown Willoughby. Local Sol has opened in the old Gavi’s Party Center and will offer a full menu of Latin American cuisine, with more emphasis placed on South America than the typical modern Mexican cuisine. This new restaurant has been a work in progress for the past 10 months when the Local Tavern group (Tim Roush and John Loxterman) met David Bartulovic in 2014. They are also known for their opening of Taco Local, a Cali-Mexi restaurant in the spring of 2015, also in Downtown Willoughby. Sol will offer an experience that is unforgettable. With a trending Latin vibe, this new restaurant is not just a great dining and social experience, it is a whole new world for the east side of Cleveland. “Straightforward but done well and with a modern flair” says Executive Chef Michael Schoen. Chef Michael is a Euclid transplant, started from bottom up, self taught working under notable Cleveland chefs Matt Mytro and Heather Haviland then moving to Chicago to become the executive chef of James beard award winning restaurant hot chocolate and executive chef of renowned Hopleaf bar & restaurant before moving back home to team up with David Bartulovic & Local Tavern group to open our highly anticipated Local Sol Kitchen and Cantiki! “The opening of this restaurant would not have started off on the right foot without the wonderful team that we have had behind us” said owner David Bartulovic. “We would also like to recognize Dana Chiaponne and Lee Bennett who have years of managerial experience and have been a great asset to the opening of Local Sol. As well as Tim Magee, sommelier and bar manager who has helped create a memorable cocktail menu.” says owners Tim Roush and David Bartulovic. Local Sol has been doing a soft opening through October and would like to announce their Grand Opening event on Thursday November 5th.
