Apologies for Absence 2. None received as of 05/07/2012 2. Minutes of Previous Meeting The minutes of the meeting held on 16 June 2012, having been circulated and read were agreed as a true record. 3. Progress since last meeting 3.1 Grant Applications Nothing further to add this month. 3.2 Hugo and Jon have looked at the possibility of applying for the sports equipment grant from Sports England, further investigation is ongoing. ACTION: HD 3.3 Other Fundraising 3.3.1 The next fund raising event is the Le Mans 24hr race to be held in the Blue Bell 16-17 June. Family activities will be taking place through out the days and may include camping in the pub garden (weather permitting!) all funds raised will be divided between Wiston Cricket Club and the Gringley Community Centre. Jon has more details. 3.3.2 Sponsor A Brick: Sponsorship forms are still arriving and it is hoped that more people will respond. The sum raised to date stands in excess of £1,635.00 It is hoped to sell more bricks over the next few weeks. The Le Mans weekend raised £355 to be divided by between Wiston Cricket club and the New Community Centre. A big thank you to Jon for his dedication! ACTION: ALL 3.3.3 The current GCC bank account balance stands at £5,453.00 as of 16th June. 4. Reports from Sub-Committees 4.1 Steering A meeting took place on the 24th June, Village Hall committee and the GCCC. It was decided that anyone wishing to become part of the new CC management committee should put their names forward, everyone and any one are welcome to apply, the more diverse the better. It was decided to ask the existing trustees to indicate if they would like to carry forward to be trustees of the new CC, names for additional trustees would be welcomed and considered. ACTION: ALL 4.2 Building and Fixtures Hugo and Matt met with Millers on 21st May to discuss progress on the building schedule and also fixtures and fittings including the building of a fixed stage. Millers indicated that they would be looking to complete by the end of December 2012. The interior fixtures where discussed and a further meeting was arranged for mid July, Jon will attend this. Additional changes to Specification – Millers Stage Design/costing needed for much enhanced stage area. Side area, steps, storage, curtains, location of lighting rig etc. Kitchen Dedicated hand washing sink behind door Single bowls Electrics for hot water boiler Commercial dishwasher Ceramic hob No drinks fridge Under unit lighting Lighting ½ height lights (dimmers) in main hall as well as full height lights for sports Power in ceiling for theatrical rig Check whole electrical layout (esp. plugs/bt positions in office and meeting rm.) Hall – where is painting going up to Lobby Coir mat needed (2m square minimum) Toilets 5 toilet roll holders required (like current Village Hall) Tiling needed under hand driers Soap dispensers needed Disabled alarm needed in dis. toilet Hot water Need assurance from Ice Energy that hot water demands will be met (eg. for peak demand during events). Other items Tile colour – neutral/cream Carpet/vinyl colour – beige/grey or blue – flecked. Not red. External jack for generator Gate or lockable posts for car park? Check floor spec in main hall – badminton court markings? Ceiling – noise attenuation boarding, costs awaited. ACTION: HD/MC/JB 4.3 Events The time capsule “shaft” has been passed to Millers who will sink this at the front entrance so that the time capsule can be inserted in the near future. Wendy and others are getting together items to go into the capsule, hopefully the school will become involved and a ceremony can take place for the burial of the capsule.
