Thailand TESOL currentlyinvites all those working in the field of English Language
Teaching” or related areas to submit an abstract for the 36th Thailand TESOL International
Conference on January 29-30, 2016 at the Hotel Pullman KhonKaen Raja Orchid in KhonKaen,
Thailand. The theme of the conference is “The Changing Landscape of ELT: Empowerment
through Glocalization.”
We welcome presentations, workshops, and poster sessions from all sectors of the
“English Language Teaching”aspect. Not only do we wish to explore ELT in Thailand, but also
in Asia and across the globe. Our goal is to stage a forum for in-depth discussions
anddebates that will promoteinnovative classroom practices for the benefit of English
language learners. Proposals addressing the conference theme will receive first
consideration.
Rationale
Across the global education of ELT is being re-engineered to embrace a much
greater emphasizing empowerment of ELT through glocalization to enhance innovative and
creative four macro skills, etc. In second/foreign language education, research suggests ELT
in the contexts of globalization and glocalization are closely related and this is
extensivelyrenowned by teachers, linguists and educators. In particular, utilizing glocalization
as one of the context of ELT may facilitate higher levels of language proficiency and
trulyteaching/learning a language indicates learning in the target language
To that end, this conference therefore hopes to present a range of studies exploring the
empowerment of ELT through glocalization, applying a diversity of approaches/methods of ELTthat
all contribute to understanding and enhancing the field. Focusing on such features
of: 1) Teaching listening, 2) Teaching speaking, 3) Teaching reading,4) Teaching writing, 5) English
for specific purposes, 6) Professional development, 6), Technology in education 7)
Literature/linguistics/applied Linguistics,8) Vocabulary, 10) Bilingual education, 11) Testing,
12) Curriculum/materials development,13) Intercultural English language teaching. Potential
contributors are invited to submit their proposalsconcerning such educational settings (primary,
secondary, higher education, lifelong learning, adult education, virtual environment learning,
etc.), regarding such research methodologies, primary and secondary investigations, qualitative
and quantitative studies, experimental design in and out of classrooms and emic perspectives for
both students and teachers, etc.

Objectives
The aims of the Thailand TESOL 2016 conference are:
1) to offer ascholarly platform for both Thai and international teachers/educators, from preservice teacher trainees to veterans, to reflect on their ideas about“English Education” in order
to enhance their understanding of past, present, and future directions of ELT;
2) to promote and disseminate new research contributions and information about teachers’
experiences in order to strengthen teaching and learning in current and future classrooms for
teachers, teacher educators, and policy makers;
3) to foster and enhance discussion, reflection and network-building that will assist
professional teachers to more fully participate as integrated members of their respective
home countries’ English language teaching communities.
Presentations
Presenting at Thailand TESOL is an approach for all English language teachers/educators to
take an active role in the teaching profession, to share knowledge, and to learn from the
experiences and challenges of others.
We welcome and invite presentations on any aspect of the theme including, but not limited
to, the following ELT fields:

Poster sessions should be non-commercial. They can be based on classroom projects,
suggested lesson plans, reports on English camps, etc.

How to Submit Your Proposal
1. Presenters must download the“ProposalForm from our website“www.thailandtesol.org.
This form requires you to provide the details of your presentation and the following:

A 50-word bio including the speaker’s full name, institution, address, & email;
-
The titleof your presentation(10-word maximum); and
-
An abstract of about 100 words.
2. Send your proposalas an email attachment to Dr. AnamaiDamnet at
thaitesolproposal2016@gmail.comby August 31, 2015 using the “ProposalForm.”
(Please do not send your proposalin the body of the email.)In the subject line, type
your name + conference proposal, e.g. “Susan Smith’s Conference Proposal.” Faxed
or mailed proposalswill not be processed.

Thailand TESOL Online Proceedings 2016
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: February 15, 2016
Thailand TESOL is calling for papers from presenters to be published in our online
proceedings. For presenters who are interested, please carefully read the following
information.
Notes for contributors
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
When submitting a manuscript, please adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Manuscripts (Approx. 3,000 - 7,000 words including references, graphs, and appendices)
must be typewritten only in MS Document format, 12-point Times New Roman font, and 1.5
lines spacing. All submitted manuscripts must conform to the stylistic guidelines prescribed
by the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA).
2. An Abstract of no longer than 200 words is also required for each manuscript, which
clearly summarizes the important findings of the paper, and contains hard facts such as
objectives, methods and major results.
3. A bio-data of about 70 words is required. Give the full name of all authors, and their
affiliation. Contact information for the corresponding author, complete mailing address, and
e-mail address must accompany each submission.
4. Indicate in your accompanying email that the submitted manuscript has not been
previously published nor is it under consideration for being published by any other journal or
conference.
5. The author is responsible for ensuring that the submitted manuscript has been thoroughly

edited and proofread to reach an academically appropriate standard of English. Manuscripts
that do not conform to this requirement will be returned to the author for revision before the
peer review process is undertaken.
** Submissions that have not followed the above requirements will not be
acknowledged or considered.
REVIEW POLICY
Manuscripts will be firstly screened by the editorial team. If a manuscript is of insufficient
quality, it may be rejected at this stage. However, if approved, it will be passed on to two
more anonymous reviewers according to their expertise and their availability. The doubleblind review process will be used. The editorial team reserves the right to accept or reject
articles and unpublished manuscripts will not be returned.
The submission deadline is February 15, 2016.
