Center for Student Involvement Position Descriptions & Rankings ____________________________________________________ *You must apply through Careers@USF, the online employment application system* (employment.usf.edu) Please indicate your preference of positions across all board positions listed, with 1 indicating your highest preference. Rank only those positions you are interested in. Individual interview questions will be tailored based on your ranking and interest. Position Requirements: Must have a 2.25 GPA, unless otherwise stated, and be actively enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours as an undergraduate degree-seeking student or a minimum of 4 credit hours as a post-baccalaureate student during the fall and spring semesters. Must not be under current disciplinary probation, suspension, or expulsion. Must be able to work scheduled office hours during normal business hours in the Center for Student Involvement Office and/or Centre Gallery, in addition to flexible availability to support night and weekend programming throughout the year. Positions will work approximately 10-15 hours per week (based on position). It is strongly preferred to be available to begin work on campus Monday, July 7, 2014 to plan and prepare for fall semester events. Executive Director Positions are strongly preferred to begin work on Monday, May 12, 2014. Campus Activities Board meetings are Wednesdays at 5:00pm, Campus Traditions Board meetings are Mondays at 4:00pm, and University Lecture Series meetings are Tuesdays at 5:00pm. If hired, you will be expected to not schedule other commitments during those times. Campus Activities Board (CAB) positions: _______Executive Director (Advanced Position) The Executive Director will lead the Campus Activities Board and provide overall direction for board members by acting as a leader, role model and mentor. Responsibilities include facilitating regular activities that motivate and recognize the board, planning and facilitating weekly board meetings, acting as a liaison with various campus committees and organizations, and the planning of fall and spring retreats. GPA of 2.5 preferred. Executive Director will perform other duties as assigned. Executive Director is required to work approximately 15 hours per week. _______CSI Committee Director The CSI Committee Director will oversee the volunteer committee (e.g. street teams) for all Center for Student Involvement boards (CAB, Campus Traditions Board, and University Lecture Series), working closely with all boards to coordinate volunteer and promotional efforts. Director will plan and execute volunteer committee meetings, socials, and volunteer recognition throughout the year. _______Internal Relations Director The Internal Relations Director will be responsible for planning professional development workshops each semester, as well as for planning CSI student board socials and assisting with the planning of the end of the year banquet for the Center for Student Involvement. Director will perform other duties as assigned. _______Marketing Director (2 positions available) The Marketing Directors will be responsible for promoting CAB to the university community. Directors will collaborate with graphic designer for all design needs. Duties include distributing information to all campus listservs, USF students, departments, colleges and USF community. Common tasks will include the dispersing of marketing flyers and posters, choosing and distributing promotional items, and creating new and innovative marketing strategies for CAB. Marketing Directors will oversee all online media efforts, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. Directors will perform other duties as assigned. _______Patio Tuesday Director The Patio Tuesday Director will plan and execute a Patio Tuesday Event the first Tuesday of each month from 11am-1pm outside of the MSC. Each event should be creative and represent the needs of the general student body by selecting appropriate theme, food, novelty entertainment, giveaways and general entertainment. Availability during Patio Tuesday event days from 9a-2p is required. Director will perform other duties as assigned. _______Concerts/Special Events Director The Concerts/Special Events Director will plan and execute major university concerts and special events representing the diverse USF student population. This includes coordinating all special event logistics, hospitality, and talent correspondence. The director will be in charge of planning the Homecoming Parade After Party Concert, as well as three CAB events including Winter Wonderland, Battle of the Bands, and the Bullstock Concert in the spring. This director will be a part of the CAB board, but will also play an integral role within the Campus Traditions Board, to ensure the success of all program responsibilities. The Director will be responsible for meeting both Campus Traditions Board and CAB obligations in regard to meeting and event attendance. Director will perform other duties as assigned. _______Movies Director The Movies Director will select, plan and promote a bi-monthly (twice a month) movie series on Wednesday nights throughout the 2014-2015 academic year. This will include enhancements at some movies such as incorporating themes, activities, or food sponsors. Additionally, this director will execute a monthly movie program to serve as the “main event” for select Bulls Nite Out programs. This director will also be in charge of planning an annual event called Campus Movie Fest, during which students’ films are showcased. The Movies Director is responsible for coordinating the short film submission and judging process. Duties will include working with outside vendors and companies, and planning all logistics associated with the event. Availability Wednesday evenings is required. Director will perform other duties as assigned. _______Bulls Nite Out Directors (2 positions available) Each Bulls Nite Out Director will assist in the selection, planning, managing, and promoting of 1 respective weekend program each month throughout the academic year. This will include creating and selecting entertainment, activities, and food for the program, as well as coordinating the event with the Marshall Student Center (or the appropriate location) facilities, USF Physical Plant, and a variety of other USF Departments involved in the execution of an event. Regular participation in Bulls Nite Out and CAB events is expected with the position. All Bulls Nite Out events occur on either Friday or Saturday nights, generally from 9pm-Midnight. General availability during Friday or Saturday evenings on a rotating basis is required. Directors will perform other duties as assigned. _______Comedy Director The CAB Comedy Director is responsible for the selection, planning, management, and promotion of all CAB, Bulls Nite Out, Homecoming, and CSI Comedy events. This includes summer comedy shows, Round Up, 1 Bulls Nite Out Comedy Show each month, and the Stampede Comedy Show (part of Homecoming). The Comedy Director will also be a member of the Campus Traditions Board and will be responsible for meeting both Campus Traditions Board and CAB obligations in regard to meeting and event attendance. Director will perform other duties as assigned. Campus Traditions Board (CTB ) positions: _______Executive Director (Advanced Position) The Executive Director of Campus Traditions oversees all aspects of the Campus Traditions Board and serves as the coordinator of all Homecoming and USF Week events. The Executive Director will represent the board on the various University of South Florida’s Homecoming related committees, as well as coordinate the invitation of all USF dignitaries and distinguished alumni to Homecoming and USF Week events, in consultation with the CTB advisor. Additionally, the Executive Director will facilitate weekly meetings of the board, as well as any other duties as assigned. GPA of 2.5 preferred. Executive Director is required to work approximately 15 hours per week. _______Marketing Director The Marketing Director will design and implement a macro and micro marketing plan for Homecoming and USF Week, collaborating with a graphic designer for design elements. The Marketing Director will collaborate with the Spirit/Outreach Director to create an atmosphere of school spirit and pride on campus for Homecoming and USF Week. The Marketing Director will also oversee all online media efforts, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. Additionally, the Marketing Director will complete any other duties as assigned. _______ Spirit/Outreach Director The Spirit/Outreach Director will spearhead a campaign to increase school spirit and pride throughout the USF campus. The director will work with the CSI Committee Director to coordinate committee members (volunteers) who will serve as support for Homecoming and USF Week events, while also enthusiastically promoting school spirit and pride throughout the campus and community. The Spirit/Outreach Director will collaborate with the Marketing Director to create an atmosphere of school spirit and pride on campus for Homecoming and USF Week. The director will also complete any additional duties as assigned. _______Campus Relations Director The Campus Relations Director will serve as a liaison between the Center for Student Involvement and other USF departments and student groups to ensure a successful Homecoming and USF Week. The Campus Relations Director will recruit teams and manage and facilitate the SuperBull Team Competition during Homecoming Week. Responsibilities will include revising and reinforcing the policies of the SuperBull Team Competition, as well as collaborating with both on campus departments and off-campus partners to create an effective, safe, engaging, and fair team competition for the USF Community. The Campus Relations Director will also work with USF departments and offices to identify meaningful opportunities for collaboration in Homecoming and USF Week. The director will also complete any additional duties as assigned. _______Campus Traditions Programming Director (4) Campus Traditions Programming Directors will plan and execute the events of Homecoming and USF Week, including Kick-Off, Homecoming Ball and Court, Homecoming Parade, Homecoming Carnival, The Ultimate Bull, Rocky’s Birthday, and additional events to be determined. Specific responsibilities will be assigned after the board is formed. Directors will also complete any other duties as assigned. University Lecture Series (ULS) Positions: _______Executive Director (Advanced Position) The Executive Director will oversee all ULS meetings, create agendas, and meet with the advisor on a weekly basis. Executive Director will lead communication with lecture agents and with the help of the advisor, seek to secure event spaces and other details surrounding each lecture. Duties will include designing team activities at various meetings to build teamwork, communicating with the entire board regarding contractual obligations for each lecture, and communicating with partners of ULS to ensure a successful event. GPA of 2.5 preferred. Executive Director will perform other duties as assigned. Executive Director is required to work approximately 15 hours per week. _______Marketing Director The Marketing Director will design and implement marketing and promotional plans for all lecture events, collaborating with the graphic designer to ensure all design needs are met. The Marketing Director will generate innovative ideas and plans to increase ULS’s brand name on campus and throughout the Tampa Bay community. The Marketing Director will oversee all online media efforts, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. Director will perform other duties as assigned. _______Events Director The Events Director will coordinate receptions for each lecture guest, reaching out to and partnering with USF departments, colleges, and student organizations, as well as external Tampa Bay community members. Events Director will work closely with catering and event services to ensure a high quality reception. Duties will include sending out invitations for the receptions and ensuring reserved seating at the lecture for guests. Events Director will plan and organize teaser events prior to lectures to generate excitement about the upcoming speaker. Events Director will perform other duties as assigned. _______Scheduling Director The Scheduling Director will oversee all efforts related to the student experience, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all. Duties will include creating a detailed staffing plan for each event, arranging special accommodations for guest as needed, and working closely with the Center for Student Involvement Committee Director to communicate the needs and scheduling of all volunteer committee members. The Scheduling Director will coordinate all event staff including, but not limited to, sound and light, security, and photography. Scheduling Director will perform other duties as assigned.
