For that reason it is necessary to deploy and enrich intelligent systems using smart metering and control solutions for optimization of energy consumption and for the consumer supply, by exploiting multiple energy resources, including cogeneration and renewable energy integration. The development of “Saving models for European hotels” is interesting, given the importance of tourism for the regional and national economy. Every hotel has some energy needs based on their energetic applications, occupancy, size, geographical location and availability of energy resources. The intelligent system of energetic optimization shall be design to be adapted to all kind hotels, but considering the energy requirements thereof. For this reason, it will improve different energy technologies that can be implemented at appropriate hotels. This generation technologies are: considering, as a starting point, the generation technologies with most experienced renewable energy sources (solar thermal, solar photovoltaic, wind, ...) General objective The main project objective is to save energy in European Hotels, and reduce their emissions. Through more efficient use of energy technologies available in the hotel as well as complete monitoring of demand and use, a smart distribution system is achieved, that allow the interconnection between hotels beyond the customer. The district heating and cooling integrates demand and supply, and can be extended not only a hotel but for consumptions of different hotels. Thereby, an autonomous cogeneration in different hotels is achieved and the city smart grid would be improved. Specific objectives: -Energy Segmentation and Modeling of the european Hotels to set priorities for energy sources and suggest for each one the energy proposal to saving by in one side the optimal use of energy, and by other side, the implementation of the most efficient generation systems according to their resources available, and the regulation and pricing in each country. Financial factors are a critical factor for use of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies. It is reported that over 90 percent of hotels have difficulty obtaining financing for any types of investments. In addition, small- and medium- size hotels often have poor credit ratings that make loans more costly than for large hotels or chain hotels. For that reason, is essential to know the legal and economic situation of each region to advise the hotel regarding cogeneration and suggest the use of certain renewable energy. -To create and test a intelligent and integrated energy management system for demand and energy supply of hotels. -To investigate optimal solution of direct solar heat utilization or short or longer term storage in shallow layers of ground for Hotels industry. -To optimize geothermal heating system by application of heat pumps utilizing geothermal energy sources. -Mapping the potential for utilization of heat pumps using sea water as the heat source in countries of project partners. Optimizing district heating systems temperatures for the case of utilization of heat pumps with sea water as the heat sorce. - Specific savings plan for each hotel based on their needs, according to the model stablished.
