Queen’s Student Today, Alumni Tomorrow (Formally QSTAT-old and Mentor & Alumni) Overview Queen’s Student Today, Alumni Tomorrow aims to strengthen relations between Commerce students and alumni through career-related and networking events. Formally two separate committees (Mentor & Alumni and QSTAT-old), we have joined together to help strengthen student-alumni communication. We believe that QSB graduates, who have been through phases of career and academic uncertainty, are the best source of inspiration and guidance for students. We want to encourage pride in our QSB graduates and promote alumni giving back to QSB through time and financial means. QSTAT is here to help bridge the gap of communication and build a long- lasting relationship between all Queen's Commerce students. In its pursuit of this objective, the QSTAT executive organizes a major career event, an alumninetworking luncheon and continues to develop the Day on Bay event. We work directly with Alumni Relations helping them out with tours, thank-a-thons and homecoming. In the winter term, the Networking Luncheon is held in Toronto with some of QSB’s top alumni. It matches up current students with QSB graduates who share invaluable career knowledge and experiences during lunch. In March, we have our signature event, Day on Bay: an excursion to Toronto where students spend the day at one of our partner companies, meeting with alumni and recruiters and experiencing a glimpse of corporate life. Positions on QSTAT Executive First Year Representative (2) The frosh representative for QSTAT will be responsible for supporting the executive team in planning the Alumni Luncheon, Day on Bay and our new fall panel. The frosh representative must be organized, responsible and passionate. QSTAT works closely with the alumni relations department as well as the commerce alumni network so professionalism and positivity are key. APPLICATION QUESTIONS 1. What skills and experiences do you have that make you the best fit as a QSTAT frosh rep? 2.
