Barcode readers / scanners
Tips when selecting a barcode scanner:
o Always check for software compatibility (PC or Mac) before purchase.
o USB connection an advantage.
o Wireless option - Allows for distance work, but check the cost.
o Wireless alternative - A long connection cable (usually USB) can be connected to your Scanner for distance work – stocktaking, workroom etc.
Disadvantage is that you are a long way from the computer screen and speakers to see and hear any warning messages and noises that come
up. Scanning warning messages will be listed on the screen.
