POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT ASSOCIATE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) is seeking a full-time Associate Executive Director to provide management of the Executive Office and of the other activities of the CoARC. The Associate Executive Director (AED) reports directly to the Executive Director (ED). The Associate Executive Director will: Providing leadership, advice, and counsel to the ED and the Board on the full range of CoARC programs and activities; in addition, the incumbent serves as the principal deputy for the ED on all aspects of the corporation’s operations, according to the strategic direction set by the Board and assumes the responsibilities of the ED or Assistant Executive Director/Director of Finance and Operations (AED/DFO) in their absence; Providing professional assistance and consultative guidance to Board Referees and programs on matters pertaining to the initiation and maintenance of accreditation as well as the accreditation review process. This includes but is not limited to the following areas: administrative review and management of applications, selfstudies, substantive changes, as well as review of annual reports, including review of analyses and action plans and resource assessment matrices, validation, etc.; Other duties and special projects as may be assigned at the discretion of the ED. The successful candidate would possess the following qualifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required. Master’s degree required, earned Doctorate preferred. Experience as a Program Director or Director of Clinical Education at an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Site visitor experience. Prior management experience (e.g. budget, personnel, strategic planning, and non-profits). Knowledge of CoARC-accredited programs, Policies, Standards and activities. Effective written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in performing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines. Ability to manage financial resources in a prudent manner. Verifiable organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong working knowledge of current computer and information technologies. General Information: The salary is commensurate with qualifications and includes benefits. This is full-time exempt position requiring some weekends and evenings; ability to travel is required (i.e., to attend all CoARC Board meetings and other travel as may be required at the request of the ED or Board in support of CoARC’s mission).
