2014-2015 Renton School District 4 and 5 Grade Battle of the Books th th Dear Fourth & Fifth Grade Families, Bryn Mawr Elementary will be participating in an exciting competition called Battle of the Books. This fun reading program will encourage students to work together and read a wide range of genres and authors. All fourth and fifth grade students have been given information during their weekly library class about participating in this year’s competition. There are multiple copies of the battle books available for checkout from the Bryn Mawr library. Participating students will be responsible for reading at least four of the titles on the list. Working together as a team of four the goal is for all sixteen books to be read before the battles begin in March. If a team wins the school championship, they will need to participate in the district battle during the evening of Thursday, April 2nd, 2015. Battle of the Books is a great way for students to read wonderful stories and compete to show their understanding of the story elements of each book. It’s also a lot of fun! The reading list has been included for your information and to assist you if you would like to help your student find some of these books at the public library. Thank you for your support.
