Biography Billboard Project
Students have been learning about biographies as a genre this week. During this project, students will
use information from the biography they chose to read, along with computer research from
factmonster.com to complete a biography billboard. A biography is a book about the life of a real person.
The author is a different person than the book is written about. The person in the biography can be
dead or alive. The author describes how the person affected others. This book project is due Friday,
December 5, 2014.
What you will need for Biography Billboard Poster:
 Biography notes page
 Biography of a famous person of interest
 Poster board with hole cut out for face
 Craft materials
 Your creativity
Directions for a Biography Billboard Poster:
1.
Read your biography and take notes about important details as you read. Use the biography notes
page to write important details and interesting facts you encounter as you read. This will be used to
create your poster for your presentation.
2.
Using your creativity and craft supplies, make your poster look as much like your person as you
can. Think about the clothes they wore and their hairstyle. Your face will be in the hole of the poster
board and you will “become” your character. Leave space around the sides for your information.
3.
On the front of the poster, around your character, you will need to include the following
information:
1. Name of the famous person
2. Date born
3. Three important facts about their early life
4. Three important facts about their later life
5. *The most famous contribution from their life.
