This original new piece by Mimoza Koïke,1 Bruno Roque2 and Agnès Roux3 immerses you
in the poetic world of a farming community for gourmet cannibals. They are
accompanied by Christian Selvatico,4 Leslie Bourgeois5 and Asier Edeso.6 REVOLUTION
AGRAIRE is a cross-disciplinary work produced by Le Logoscope’s performing arts and
visual arts platforms. It interconnects the skills, spaces and temporalities of the exhibition
and dance theatre.

A LABORATORY EXPERIMENT – IN THE ARTS!
Tinged with humour, the story of this experiment references the introductory text of
Roland Topor’s book Cannibal Cuisine (published in 1970), in which he writes,
“What is the human species if not a livestock farm that has been ‘left fallow’.”
By defining a framed space on the floor, REVOLUTION AGRAIRE is a board game that
contains a set of plots and tools in which two groups of performers activate a sensory
experience. The first group embodies a restless herd of anthropomorphic animals that
play a randomised score. The second group represents farmers – men in the shadows –
who manipulate this round-robin game with the help of accessories. By interacting with
the repeated activity of the first group, they try to control the initial architecture of this
fragmented landscape. Within this agricultural metaphor, viewers will be able to move
freely from their seats to the stage, and will therefore have several viewpoints.
BEING AN ARTIST ON THE TERRESTRIAL STAGE
Science fiction has well and truly hooked us, so the creators of REVOLUTION AGRAIRE
have played with the term ‘anthropocene’,7 which is widely discussed by the scientific
community. The term implies that the actions of the human species are a real
geophysical force: transforming spaces, landscapes and ecosystems. To explore their
AnthropoScène, they have also developed dramatic, visual, choreographic, narrative
and audio blueprints.
7 Change in geological era said to have begun in the late 18th century with the industrial revolution: a
period that takes into account the growing influence of humans and their intellectual and technological
power on the Earth’s ecosystem.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHIES
MIMOZA KOÏKE Dancer/Choreographer
Born in 1982 in Tokyo (Japan). Lives in Roquebrune-Cap Martin and works in Monaco.
From 1998 to 2000 she studied dance at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de
Musique et de Danse of Lyon. She graduated with flying colours. She continued her
training at the Jeune Ballet du Conservatoire of Lyon. In 2001, she joined the Ballet du
Grand Théâtre of Geneva. In 2003, she joined Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo under the
direction of Jean-Christophe Maillot. In 2005, she was promoted to the rank of soloist.
Since then, Mimoza Koike has been the company's leading principal dancer. Mimoza
Koike boasts both fantastic artistic qualities and rare technical skill, making her popular
with the choreographers selected by Jean-Christophe Maillot such as Sidi Larbi
Cherkaoui, Jiri Kylián, William Forsythe, Johan Inger, Matjash Mrozewski, Emio Greco,
Pieter C. Scholten, Inna Yohanson and Alexander Ekmann as well as repertoire pieces by
choreographers such as George Balanchine, Nijinski and Maurice Béjart. Thanks to JeanChristophe Maillot's Les Imprévus and the ESAP, since 2007 she has developed her
choreography work and is the brain behind pieces such as "Voisinages" (2007), "U Turn"
(2008) in collaboration with Jérôme Marchand, "Rossignols" (2010), as well as "Ichi Ni San"
and "Kodama" (2012). In 2008, she also showcased her "Amenimo" solo during a Gala in
Tokyo. She has been the Artistic Director of the Logoscope's stage arts hub since 2010.
AGNES ROUX Mix media artist
Born in 1971 in Monaco. Lives and works in Monaco.
In 1999, she completed her full programme of studies at the Villa Arson (Nice). She was
awarded her DNSEP (Art stream) in 2008 from the École des Beaux-Arts of Aix-enProvence. In 1997, she founded the Logoscope multiple media artistic research
laboratory, of which she is both Artistic Director and Chairwoman. Agnès Roux has been
a lecturer in film at the Pavillon Bosio - École Supérieure d’Arts Plastiques in the city of
Monaco since 1999. Her research and artistic productions are based on weaving a set of
narrative threads and visual tales that combine the documentary and the fictional, in
which video creations serve as a driving force for the different projects and fields she
explores. Her artistic work has resulted in a polymorphous practice (multiple media) that
ranges from installation to stage design via author commissioning, drawing, ceramics,
video, performance and stage work. Agnès Roux regularly lends her expertise to different
establishments and artists such as the NUA association - Little constallation (San Marino)
from 2005 to 2013, the Monaco Dance Forum between 2004 and 2006, La Cambre École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels, Brussels in 2013. Her latest video installation is
LOST CROWN, produced in collaboration with Mimoza Koïke (principal dancer with Les
Ballets de Monte-Carlo) and Pierre Frolla (sportsman, defender of Monaco's coast and
free immersion record-holder) in 2012-13. It was part of a collective touring exhibition
entitled THE SEA IS MY LAND, under the high commission of Francesco Bonnami and
Emanuela Mazzonis (Maxxi-Romes, Triennale di Milano, etc.).
BRUNO ROQUE Dancer/Choreographer
Born in 1977 in Lisbon (Portugal). A graduate of the National Conservatory in Portugal in
1995, he studied at the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg in Russia until 1996.
His teachers were among others Boris Bregvhdze Alexander Proya Diane Gray, George
Garcia, Glen Tuggle, Igor Belsky, Ivan Kramer, Marika Besobrasova Natalia Dudinskaya
and Patricia Neary. He joined the National Ballet of Portugal, where he became a soloist
in 1999. In August 2001, he was hired by the Royal Ballet of Flanders and will be promoted
in 2002. He joined Les Ballets de Monte Carlo in 2004. Among the works he interpreted
include Cinderella, Belle, The Dream and Romeo and Juliet by Jean-Christophe Maillot
ansi as works by William Forsythe, Maurice Béjart and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. As part of the
"Contingencies" Ateliers Monte Carlo Ballet, Bruno Roque also created dance pieces like
(For) Play (2012), Crimes exemplaires (2013) Kyklone (2014).
LESLIE BOURGEOIS Set and costume designer
Born in 1984 in Albi (France). Lives and works between Paris and Monaco.
A 2008 graduate of the set design school Pavillon Bosio, over the course of her studies
she designed set designs in collaboration with Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo. In 2010, she
joined the Logoscope - a multiple media artistic research centre in Monaco - where she
developed her visual art work and contributed to live performance and video shows as a
set and costume designer. Since 2007, Leslie has also worked in dyeing and patina
techniques within the costume department of Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo under the
direction of Jean-Michel Lainé. Since 2012, she has been involved in theatre projects with
young theatre companies (Atelier théâtre de l’Estrade, Compagnie Charles est stone,
etc.). As vice-president of the theatre establishment Le Lieu Exact, she is also working on
the set design for "La Duchesse", directed by Clément Peyon. Le Lieu Exact has been
resident at the MJC Club de Créteil since 2012, during which time Leslie oversaw the
"Balhaus" research workshop for a month. After having exhibited visual artwork for the
"Les Salons de Lily" exhibition in Aix-en-Provence in the summer of 2013, alongside her
professional activities she takes acting classes given by Jerzy Klesyk at the Cours Florent.
CHRISTIAN SELVATICO Mix media artist
Born in 1975 in Menton (France). Lives in Roquebrune-Cap Martin and works in Monaco.
After having obtained his DNSEP with Honours from the École Supérieure d’Arts Plastiques
of the City of Monaco, Christian Selvatico quickly joined the Grimaldi Forum's Cultural
Events department team and has since worked as an exhibition technician there. He is
mainly responsible for two touring exhibitions: "Les Années Grace Kelly, Princesse de
Monaco" - Commissioned by Frédéric Mitterrand: Paris (2008), Moscow (2008), Rome
(2010), Sao Paulo (2011) and "Grace Kelly Style Icon" - Commissioned by Jenny Lister from
the V&A Museum: London (2010), Toronto (2011), Bendigo/Australia (2012). His artistic
work is constantly evolving. Following the "OUC" project (installation/performance) in the
"Si tu as faim, mange ta main" exhibition by Agnès Roux & the Logoscope in Monaco in
2009 and his noteworthy "wall-painting-moon-performance" for the "EstOuest" exhibition
by Thomas Negrevergne and Arnaud Rolland, he has been devoting more time and
energy to rock music in his capacity as bassist for the band 'Gasoline'. Passionate about
science, fiction and unexplained phenomena, he continues to reassess his inner world
with fervour and a touch of humour, and is focused on lending his quest form and shape.
ASIER EDESO Dancer/Choreographer
Born in 1986 in San Sebastian (Spain). From 2005 to 2006, he joined the Scottish Ballet
directed by Ashley Page. He plays the role of Cinderella in Cobbler (Ashley page), it also
dance Suite for artifact (William Forsythe) and In Light and Shadow (Krzysztof Pastor).
From 2006 to 2008, he joined the Ballet du Rhin under the direction of Bertrand At. It
interprets many parts of the choreographer: Romeo and Juliet, Prince of the Pagodas,
Ditcherliebe. He also dances: Marteau sans maître (solo Limon) and change for a door
and a sigh (Maurice Béjart) Last room for anybody, Coppelia, Nutcraker (role of the
father) choreographer Jo Stromgren, Rossignol, Dance (Lucinda Childs), Theme and
Variations (George Balanchine) Work Within work (William Forsythe), Les Noces (Jacopo
Godani). In 2008, he joined the Ballets de Monte-Carlo led by Jean-Christophe Maillot. It
interprets Most ballet choreographer such as La Belle, Romeo and Juliet (one of two
acolytes), Cinderella (Superintendent of pleasure), The Dream (tradesman),
Scheherazade, Faust (Lucifer), LAC (the confidant of the prince, an archangel) Choré
(assistant director), The Nutcracker Company Altro Canto I, Altro Canto II, Opus 40, Opus
50, Men's dance for woman. Asier Edeso also performs works entries in the company's
repertoire or created by choreographers invited to Les Ballets de Monte Carlo: The
Prodigal Son (George Balanchine), Body Remix (Marie Chouinard), The Rite of Spring
(Maurice Béjart), The Rite of Spring (V. Nijinsky), New Sleep (son) William Forsythe, Dearest
earthly friend (Marco Goecke) Ballet Corps (Emio Greco). As part of the "Contingencies"
in which young dancers trying to choreographer profession, he interprets Memory House
(Anja Behrend) and Persistent Sequence (Joseph Hernandez).
