Linking Social Care, Housing & Health Data (Pilot Project) Metadata (Draft) Section 1: Overview The linked datasets which are provided to analysts in the safe haven are stored separately, but can be linked together using a common unique reference number (Project ID). This is primarily due to the complexity of linking multiple datasets. A number of derived datasets and variables were created. These included: Demographics dataset – includes geography variables Flags dataset – to enable analysis can be carried out on specific cohorts of interest (eg individuals with mental health problems, individuals with multiple emergency admissions and a diagnosis of dementia). Health Data Client Data Health episode data for 2010/11 from SMR01 & SMR04 Demographics Data Social Care Data Project ID Four separate datasets containing Home care and Direct Payments data for 2010 and 2011 allows data to be linked across all datasets Prescribing Data Demographics & deaths data for all clients Flags Data Service contacts for all clients across all datasets Dataset containing counts of items dispensed in 2010/11 Once we have demonstrated initial analysis to the Privacy Advisory Committee then hopefully we will get approval to use 2011/12, 2012/13 data. Can also request to bring in other datasets depending on research e.g. Scottish Care Home Census, further prescribing data.
